The picturesque village of Zaanse Schans is famous for its original buildings, vividly capturing Dutch life in the 17th and 18th centuries. Much like the World Heritage Kinderdijk, this town is lined with classic Dutch Windmills. Experience the old Dutch life in Volendam and Marken with an abundance of inside information from your guide. You'll see the historic shipyard and windmills. Visit a shoemaker who works with wood and watch his clog-making techniques first-hand! Excellent tour.

Excellent experience. We were able to see many of the county’s sites in a short time. Guide was knowledgeable.

Family friendly, Great way to spend the day!

This was an amazing way to spend a day! My family of 5 went on the tour right after church at the noon time slot. We were able to see inside a historic windmill, authentic wood clog making cheese making/tasting and finally a stoop-waffle tasting. The day finishes about 5:30 with a nice bus ride through the countryside. “Mr. Ferrari” the driver was friendly and very safe. The tour guides were phenomenal, informative and ensured that the experience was great for everyone. Our three kids all under 13 enjoyed it. They were learning and also very entertained. A lovely family friendly experience.

A very insightful tour with many learning opportunities, whilst also entertaining. Definitely recommend going as it is definitely worth the time (nearly 6 hours)!

An absolutely fantastic day trip out! Well organised with friendly guides giving a clear plan for the day and explanations. Everything ran smoothly and we were all very punctual with getting back to the bus for the next stop. We got the all inclusive trip which included the boat trip and it was well worth it. Really good value tour as we got to go inside a windmill to see how it works, cheese making, clog making and waffle making! Only negative was that the audio plugs at our seats (and 2 other) were not working so we couldn’t listen to the audio commentary as we went along. Overall, a really good day out which packs in a lot so I would highly recommend it.
