Very pleased I found and booked this guided Rijksmuseum tour with Kapt'n Koko's private tours. This was an excellent and enjoyable tour with a local guide called Koko, who did a great job guiding us through the museum. Very informative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, Koko pointed out interesting facts and details in the paintings and other art which without having a private tour guide, we would have missed. Great communication before the tour and easy to follow instructions how to find the meeting point start of the tour. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Let me start by saying that our tour guide, Younes, was the best. He advised my family and I on how to navigate keukenhof and the restaurant he recommended was amazing. He explained to us the history of keukenhof and was very knowledgeable of Amsterdam’s history. He was so patient while my family took a million pictures and even offered to take them for us at times when things were a bit chaotic. Younes is amazing and he really knows how to maximize your time in Amsterdam. I highly recommend booking this tour. My family and I are already making plans to book Younes’ tour next year when we come back to Europe.
Rolf gave my 21-year-old son Felix an unforgettable tour of the Rembrandts and Vermeers at the Rijksmuseum. Felix called me right afterwards, absolutely buzzing with excitement about the experience and Rolf's incredible depth of knowledge. Having studied the Northern Renaissance and Dutch Golden Age in high school, Felix was thrilled to see these masterpieces in person. Apparently Rolf is not only an expert art historian, but also a genuinely kind and personable guide. The experience is something he'll never forget. Thank you so much, Rolf!
My trip was already amazing but this tour must have been the highlight of my short stay in Amsterdam. Not only did I learn and see so many interesting things about the city but I got to taste some real Dutch foods and they were delicious:). Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city!
Be at the meeting point on time and be prompt with time keeping. A few places on itinerary but allocated time is too short. Whole trip finished 2:45 (at the end point already) which seems a bit too early. It would be nice if a reasonable time was allocated more for Zaanse Schans and Volandem (as to order and have lunch takes ages queuing). Otherwise, transport service was handy, tour guides were both good. We were with Rob in the group tour and he was very informative. History knowledge was good.
I just loved touring Rembrandt‘s house. They did such a good job the way they guided people through the rooms and the audio was done very well. I especially liked the demonstration of how prints were made from copper plates. You should definitely not miss this tour if you are going to Amsterdam. It makes Rembrandt come alive.
