Overview

This unique tour will bring you to the most famous scenic spots in the Netherlands, which are Giethoorn, Afsluitdijk and Zaanse Schans within one day. In our journey, you would visit a dutch cheese factory, a wooden shoes factory and enjoy a royal diamond demonstration at Zaanse Schans; After that a beautiful photo stop at Afsluitdijk, the longest dike of the world; In the afternoon, you would discover green 'Little Venice' of Holland and enjoy one hour free boat cruise in Giethoorn. This tour offers free hotel pick-up service within Amsterdam; a luxury and comforable mini bus (Mecedes brand) with maximum 8 persons; and a free bottle of water (one bottle per traveler). This 10 hours experience gives you a relaxed, memorable and enjoyable tour with a lot of beautiful photos. One remark: Making new friends on the road won't be a bad idea of your travel. Please note: at the peak season, we might combine two groups together, we will contact you about this in advance.

Itinerary

  • Zaanse Schans

    You would expect to have following activities in our VIP tour at Zaanse Schans. you would have a private dutch cheese factory tour, to understand how to make cheese in the traditional way. You could taste more than 26 different types of cheese here. After that, we will take you to a private wooden shoes factory tour. You would watch a live demonstration of making wooden shoes by a traditional clog maker. After that you would have a private Royal Amsterdam Diamond tour, to know the history of diamond, and enjoy the diamond with 268 cuts. Of course you would have your own free time to get close to the windmills and take photos.

  • Catharina Hoeve Cheese Farm

    This attraction is the first stop at Zaanse Schans. As described above, you would experience this old cheese farm/factory, to have a private tour of how to make traditional dutch cheese, get to know the history of this cheese farm, and cheese tasting with more than 26 different flavors.

  • Kooijman Souvenirs & Clogs Wooden Shoe Workshop

    At this attraction, you would expect to see a live demonstration of making wooden shoes by traditional clog makers, get to know the history of wooden shoes, and see different types of wooden shoes. You could have wooden shoes try-on here with different colors. Of course you can take as many photos as you want

  • Afsluitdijk

    Around noon, you would have a beautiful photo stop at Afsluitdijk, one of the most incrediable dike in the world. At this stop, you expect to know the story of building this great dike, sightseeing North sea and the biggest inner lake 'Ijselmeer' of Holland. 【Note: The monument stop is at the moment under renovation, observation tower is closed. You would have limited landscape. We have chosen an alternative stop, but keep in mind, the landscape is not as beautiful as before】

  • Giethoorn

    In the afternoon, you would explore the ‘Little Venice’ of the Netherlands. You will enjoy about 3-4 hours here to explore the sights by yourself and your loved ones. we include 1 hour traditional boat cruise here. But if you want, you could drive boat by yourself, that would have more fun with your family or friends. Self boat ride will have an upgraded price (around 10 euro/person depends on seasons)

Such a fun day trip:) our guide Leidse was very knowledgeable and interactive for every stop of the day. It is a long drive if you have little ones just as a warning.

A wonderful day in The Netherlands

Leidse was a great guide for this day-long trip. He was very friendly, engaging, thoughtful, and informative. He took us to a charming Dutch village, showed us the dike, took us to “Goat’s Horn” in the north for lunch and a boat ride through a time capsule of a small village where waterways are the main mode of transportation. He provided us with water, Dutch candy and Stroopwafels along the way as well as great stories about Dutch history. Highly recommend this experience!

Well run tour! I took this tour today with Eric as our tour guide and had a great time. Eric was very entertaining and dig a great job helping everything run smoothly, despite some delays at lunch. He was full of information and very funny. We had a great time in Giethoorn and Zaanse Schans.

He also had many great stories to share that enriched the tour. He’s very knowledgeable about everything related to the area and all the fun things to know about.
