Experience the beauty of the Bavarian Alps including the Eagle's Nest, Berchtesgaden and some local gems like the unique Golling Waterfalls and admire at emerald green Lake Fuschlsee on this 8-hour private tour from Salzburg. The Eagle's Nest, Adolf Hitler's former mountain retreat is today a mountain-top restaurant offering a splendid panoramic view of the Austrian and Bavarian Alps.The thunderous Golling falls are one of the provinces most attractive and romantic natural monuments. The Golling falls plunge 75 metres down two giant steps into the valley below. Lake Fuschl is the clearest and cleanest of all lakes in the Salzkammergut Lake Area, in fact it has drinking water quality!

    Meet your professional local guide and driver at your Salzburg hotel and hop on board of your luxury minivan. Afterward, your journey will take you on beautiful backroads to the Obersalzberg Region.

    Dive deeper into the area's history with a visit to the Obersalzberg, the Hotel zum Tuerken, and the Berghof ruins. The Berghof, located at 3000 ft elevation, was Hitler’s former mountain residence at the Obersalzberg. The Hotel zum Tuerken was used by the Nazis and is very close to Hitler's Berghof. Today the Hotel zum Tuerken is private.

    From the Obersalzberg you will access the Eagle's Nest with special busses and elevator. You will have 2 hours at the Eagle's Nest. Take a stroll to the very close summit Kehlstein to overlook the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian Alps.

    Back at the Obersalzberg your private tour will continue to the Bavarian Mountain town of Berchtesgaden. Explore the historical town center of Berchtesgaden and try some Bavarian specialty for lunch.

    From Berchtesgaden your private tour continues on scenic route to a hidden gem of the area, the natural wonder of Golling Waterfalls. It will be an easy walk of 10 minutes to see this beautiful waterfall.

Salzburg + with Manfred

Manfred was an excellent host on our short visit to Salzburg. Although our tour listed a specific amount of cultural and natural sites he included so much more. His knowledge of the history and passion for the area really showed. Even though we had a rainy cloudy day, Manfred made the best of it by visiting some sites that were not dependent on a sunny day. He also gave us many tips and web links to enhance the rest of our stay and encourage us to visit when we have more time.

Patrick was a fantastic tour guide. He is personable, knowledgeable, flexible and is generally just a lovely person to spend the day with. His English is very good which made it nice to better understand the culture and history of the region. He took us to some out of the way things that really enhances what we learned with him. He has been giving tours for over five years and really knows his stuff! Our 7 & 10 year old daughters enjoyed the tours and Patrick went out of his way to make it interesting for them too. The VW van was spotless and very roomy for our group of six. My only tip is to pack some snacks. You’re so busy touring that there isn’t much time to stop and eat. I would highly recommend this service and ask for Patrick!
