Overview

IG piqtourjapan for more dates/times/etc This is a ~4 hour photo shoot and tour where you can choose the spots you'd like to visit and we can work out an itinerary as long as it fits in the allotted time! Your host is an experienced local with many years in professional photography. They will give you all the history and fun facts you want while also getting iconic photos for you to take home. Photos are professionally edited and returned quickly. Don't miss this chance to not only see Kyoto but also get special photos to take home.

  • Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine

    Capture stunning portraits amidst the iconic red torii gates winding through the forest.

    3 hours

  • Kiyomizu-dera Temple (Pass By)

    The wooden stage offers breathtaking views of the city, and the surrounding area has gorgeous traditional scenery. Great with kimonos.

  • Arashiyama (Pass By)

    Create ethereal and serene portraits among towering bamboo stalks. We can also explore the surrounding area which has many unique photo spots, such as the river and kimono forest.

  • Hokan-ji Temple (Pass By)

    The pagoda framed by traditional streets offers a quintessential Kyoto shot. Very close to Kiyomizu-dera, at Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka Streets. This is the iconic "Gion" photo spot.

  • Gion (Pass By)

    Gion is best visited in the spring. A calmer area with many old houses and unique scenery. Best with kimonos.

  • Kinkakuji Temple (Pass By)

    Reflective pond and golden temple provide a majestic and serene setting for portraits.

  • Nijo Castle (Pass By)

    Lovely photos can be taken in the castle's beautiful gardens. Note that the castle itself does not permit any photography inside. Nijo's surrounding area offers some good hidden photo spots as well, particularly of gardens.

  • Heian Shrine (Pass By)

    The bright red buildings and lush gardens provide a stately and elegant backdrop for portraits.

  • Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (Pass By)

    Known for its plum blossoms, this shrine offers vibrant and colorful portrait settings. Highly recommended in early spring.

  • Shimogamo Jinja (Pass By)

    The forested grounds and rustic bridges provide a tranquil and natural backdrop.

  • Pontocho District (Pass By)

    This narrow alley along the Kamo River is perfect for atmospheric evening portraits with its lantern-lit charm.

  • Maruyama Park (Pass By)

    Highly recommended year round. Beautiful park with lanterns, cherry blossoms, and red fall foliage.

  • Kyoto Imperial Palace (Pass By)

    The expansive gardens and traditional architecture provide a grand setting. Kimonos recommended.

  • Kamogawa River (Pass By)

    Very beautiful and underrated spot for photos that really come alive. The iconic Kyoto river.

  • Yasaka Shrine (Pass By)

    Next to Maruyama Park. Very fun shrine with colorful buildings and lanterns.

Kyoto Photo Shoot

We really enjoyed this experience to see Kyoto and get some amazing photos. She asked us what type of photos we wanted and where, and the pictures came out beautifully!! She even gave us a bit of history about Kyoto, which I loved. And we got our photos within a week! Thank you so much for this unique experience and the beautiful photos!!

I booked this experience at the last minute and have zero regrets. Abigail was so amazing!!! I saw my pictures and gasped. She was so professional yet made me feel very comfortable. She took my ideas and was willing to try them. Whenever I needed my coat and bag held, she volunteered to help do that as well throughout the shoot. I honestly could not have asked for a better photographer to document my time in Kyoto. I am so thankful for the results of the pictures. I love them so much and it was money well spent!!!! Thank you, thank you, Abigail!!!!
