Overview

The hanging bridges in the Arenal Volcano Region are a perfect place for travelling the forest comfortably in revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife. A professional and bilingual tour guide will navigate this wonderful hike through the rainforest and across hanging bridges. The trail is well marked and there is a 3.2 km of trails in total, which allows comfortably enjoying the Rain forest. With a majestic Arenal Volcano right in front, you can admire its beauty and the wonderful forest that surrounds it, as well as this reserve populated with thousands of species that inhabit this reservation, trees, flowers, plants, insects, mammals, reptiles, frogs and many others live in an ecosystem in perfect balance. This tour is a great option for families, older adults or couples who want to enjoy a closer experience through the rainforest in Costa Rica.

Itinerary

  • Arenal Hanging Bridges

    Mistico Hanging Bridges is a 600-acre reserve, filled with lush vegetation and a big variety of wildlife. The trail is about 2 miles long, crosses 10 small bridges and 5 large hanging bridges with lengths between 16 and 328 feet and up to 180 feet high, allowing the exploration of the different levels of the forest (undergrowth, sub-canopy and canopy). The design of the trail has a maximum slope of 7 degrees, there are no steps, they have protection rails, the surface material is Non-slip concrete, so you can walk without difficulty and feel safe even at heights.

Beautiful place to visit. Guides super knowledgeable. Saw beautiful plants, monkeys, birds and snakes. View of volcano amazing. Parts of hike strenuous and bridges swing so would not recommend for elderly or someone with bad balance. We all loved it. Restaurant at end good food and drinks. You should make a reservation.
