Overview

Tochigi Nikko is a charming town in Japan’s Tochigi Prefecture with plenty of attractions where you can experience authentic Japanese culture. By join this day tour you will have a deep understanding about the city of Nikko, together with the history of Nikko Toshogu, the only UNESCO world heritage in Kanto area. Then, admire the magnificent Kegon Falls which was formed when the Daiya River was rerouted by lava flows. Afterward, to make it flexible and free, you can choose between the Chuzenji Lake or the Nikko Hot Spring. In Chuzenji Lake, gaze at the pristine waters and enjoy a stunning view of Mount Nantai. At the Nikko Hot Spring, you can relax and regain your energy before concluding this exciting trip by experiencing an Onihei Edo-style service area

  • Nikko Tosho-gu

    At the UNESCO World Heritage Site Nikko Tosho-gu, among the many beautiful carvings you will find the famous Three Wise Monkeys, the Sleeping Cat and the Imagined Elephants

  • Irohazaka Route (Pass By)

    A scenic highway connects the city of Nikkō with the Oku-Nikkō area. It is divided into two one-way roads, Iroha-zaka No. 1 and No. 2, which traverse the 440-meter difference in elevation between the Umagaeshi area at the bottom and Lake Chūzenji at the top through a series of switchbacks. “Iroha” is the name of a poem that uses each of the 48 characters of the Japanese syllabary exactly once. The poem appears, one character at a time, on signs at each bend in the road. The first 20 characters appear on the ascending route (No. 2), while the descent (No. 1) starts from the 21st character and finishes the poem.

    Lake Chuzenji (中禅寺湖, Chūzenjiko) is a scenic lake in the mountains above the town of Nikko. It is located at the foot of Mount Nantai, Nikko s sacred volcano, whose eruption blocked the valley below, thereby creating Lake Chuzenji about 20,000 years ago

An Amazing trip to Kegon falls, Toshogu Shrine and Nikko.

A great trip to Toshogu Shrine, Kegon water falls, Nikko and Lake Chuzenji. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. The bus was good and we enjoyed the comfortable timings at all stops. We did not opt for lunch as we are vegetarians and found other options. A great trip.

Very fulfilling experience. We got out on time so be super punctual. We did all the described activities. Time in the shrine was tight so don't stop too much at each building. We also went down to the falls and to the lake for some pictures. We got a small present at the end!. Bring cash as souvenir stores take only cash.

Great mountain scenery and most decorated temple

This tour really lets you see a lot of amazing things (the biggest most decorated temple, an amazing mountain setting with waterfall and a big mountain lake) with easy transportation and some great guides! Manuel, Pastor were wonderful guides and our driver, Olska, was magnificent around all those mountain curves as well as back in the big city! The historical and cultural information that was shared was enlightening and helped my understanding not just of Japanese history but also of current culture.

Nikko was beautiful

We booked this experience the night before, we were worried that it would be too late. But actually we got the confirmation in the morning and everything went smoothly. The guide (nickname Vicky) was very prepared, kind and spoke perfect English. It was very easy to find them at every stop. The bus driver was driving safely even on mountain roads.
