  • Temple of Heaven

    Following a morning pickup from your accommodation in Beijing city center, meet your private guide and hop aboard your air-conditioned vehicle. Your exploration begins with a visit to the stunning Temple of Heaven visited by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven. Stroll around the garden with your tour guide, watching local people doing morning exercises and you are welcome to join!

  • Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest

    Follow your tour guide to stroll around the courtyards in the Temple of Heaven park, learn the histories and stories about the temple with your tour guide. You will visit major buildings inside the park, including Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, Hall or Imperial Zenith, Nine Dragon Cypress, Circular Mount Alter and more.

    Test how the echo works at the echo wall compound, act like the emperor in the Ming Dynasty to "talk with heaven" at the heavenly heart stone, and learn the deep Chinese belief about the temple.

    Stop at Pearl market for purchase your China souvenir if you want, your tour guide will teach you how to negotiate price.

  • Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)

    After lunch in the local restaurant, then head to the Tienanmen Square, home to the National Museum of China and many other buildings. If there is anything you particularly want to see, feel free to let your guide know. The best thing about having a private guide is that the tour can be tailored to the things that interest you the most.

  • Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

    Pass through the south gate to the magnificent Forbidden City, a 250-acre complex of courtyards, palaces, pavilions and gardens, which served as the imperial palace for emperors and their households for more than 500 years. The Forbidden City was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located in the middle of Beijing, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.

  • Hall of Great Harmony (Taihe Dian)

    Stroll around the courtyards and halls of the Forbidden city with your tour guide, and learn the histories and stories about this massive palace. You will visit these buildings inside the Forbidden City. Hall of Great Harmony where emperor handle states affairs, Hall of Central Harmony and Hall of Preserving Harmony.

  • Palace of Heavenly Purity

    Then continue to check out the living quarters in the palace: Hall of Union, Hall Heavenly Purity, Hall of Union and Hall of Earthly Tranquillity.

  • The Imperial Garden of The Palace Museum (Pass By)

    Your tour of the Forbidden city will end at the Imperial Garden, then you will exit the Forbidden city from the north Gate. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing

A great tour with Andy

We booked this tour through Viator. We are very happy to have our English-speaking guide, Andy. He was most helpful and obliging. Speaking English fluently, he took us through an historical journey from the days the Temple of Heaven was first constructed till the end of the Chinese Emperor rule at the Forbidden City. He was informative, knowledgeable and fun to be with, and we would strongly recommend him for those who intend to go on this tour.

A Must for Art and History Enthusiasts

I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Chinese history and art. The places this tour covers are very difficult to navigate and get to know due to their overwhelming size and the language barrier without a guide. Jack was able to answer all of our questions and had extensive knowledge of all the places we visited. The price was really worth it!
