This is marvellous visit for those interested in history, architecture and all things church and royals related. We had pre booked tickets for 10:30. We arrived about 10:10 and were allowed to join the queue. We were in a little before 10:30 despite the queue.
The audio guide is excellent allowing you to tour at your own pace and backtrack or repeat sections of interest. There are many historical and royal individuals interred in the Abbey. Stephen Hawking probably the most recent. Amongst many others are Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton and Oliver Cromwell. The most poignant being the grave of the unknown soldier.
Is quite busy with visitors but we didn't feel crowded out or rushed. You go at your own pace. We were in the Abbey a little over an hour.
Once you've handed back your headphones and player there's still a bit more to see on your way out including the cloisters and gardens.
A worthwhile visit.
