Overview

In this glacier walk with a local guide from Hali you experience the wonders of Vatnajökull glacier. Our guide takes you on an unforgettable journey on Breiðamerkurjökull, one of Vatnajökull’s biggest outlet glacier.  The trip starts at Glacier Adventures headquarters in Hali, where your guide drives you to the glacier area, away from the crowds and off the beaten path where you can breathe in the fresh glacier air. The tour can take between 3,5 and 4 hours (1 – 1,5 hour on the glacier), including drive back and forth from our headquarters.  This tour is moderated and can be done by most children and adults.

  • Vatnajokull Glacier

    In this glacier walk with a local guide from Hali you experience the wonders of Vatnajökull glacier. Our guide takes you on an unforgettable journey on Breiðamerkurjökull, one of Vatnajökull’s biggest outlet glacier. The trip starts at our meeting point in Hali, where your guide give you all the needed equipment for the tour and then we drive to the glacier area, away from the crowds and off the beaten path where you can breathe in the fresh glacier air. The tour can take between 3,5 and 4 hours (1 – 1,5 hour on the glacier), including drive back and forth from our pick up location at Hali. This tour is moderated and can be done by most children from 10 years old and adults. Before we start the drive we need to gear you up. It’s necessary to have the correct footwear for glacier hiking. We’ll have the hiking boots ready for those who have rented such. We walk through a wonderland of glacial ice sculptures, ridges and the deep crevasses of the glacier.

    As we walk in the stunning surroundings of Vatnajökull National Park with plenty of unique picture moments our guide takes you through the regions history from the settlement until our times. The tour is intended for those who want to spend half a day outside walking, talking and enjoying the unforgettable landscape in the surroundings of Jökulsárlón.

Ice caves tour

What an beautiful experience it was! We also had an awesome guide. She was a lovely lady with green hair. She was very helpful and had a nice sense of humor. She was patient and let the whole group take nice pictures while she took care of light. I definitely recommend Glacier Adventure

Iceland Glacier Adventures is a totally pro company both in how they treat their equipment, staff and customers. The Glacier Walk tour out of Hali was the perfect level of difficulty and excitement for our intermediate hikers, and the guide was lively and knowledgeable. Company takes time to adjust the equipment( helmets, harnesses, clip-on crampons) and instruct each person in a time-efficient manner. **Because the Glacier is constantly melting/changing, no novice should explore them without a Pro guide-company; period! Plus knowledgeable guides really reduced worry and made the experience more fun.
