    It was built at the beginning of the 16th century (during the Venetian rule) and was reconstructed in 1579. Today the fort holds a collection of amphora and other exhibits from antiquity and the Middle Ages.

    Tvrdalj was the summer residence of Petar Hektorović, the Croatian poet (1487–1572). During the 16th century, the island of Hvar came under attack from the Ottoman Turks. Hektorović, one of the local nobles, undertook to fortify his house so that it could act as shelter for the local citizens.

Enjoyable way to see Hvar island

The quad was a very stable safe way for 2 people to travel together on the roads in Hvar to see more of the island. We were on our own time schedule which we enjoy much more than a tour.

This was a great way to easily access the beautiful views and beachs of Hvar. The staff provided a good points-of-interest route to get to know the island and have an adventure I won't forget.

everyone was very kind and made sure we knew what route to take/safety checks etc. a very unique experience. haven't personally ever had the chance to drive ATV's on public roads let alone be self guided. the old hvar road was my favorite part of the drive. lots of great stops, seeing stari grad was my wife's favorite

A must do in Hvar!!!

We had the best day driving around the island! The agency gave a recommended route with Google map stops already set up so we could easily navigate over the island, even had parking places included on the stops. The recommendations were amazing, we loved every place we visited! Also had food recommendations too which we went and had a great lunch at. Roads were good to drive on, the old road on the way back had really beautiful views. Great experience, was a favourite of our trip, definitely would recommend :)
