Overview

The sunniest, the biggest, the oldest. Three most common superlatives used when describing island and town Hvar. Every real Foranin (person originally from Hvar) and the one that recently moved to the island will know that and will tell you about it with great pride. Hvar City tour is a great way to learn about the rich history of Hvar. We will show you all the must see landmarks, tell you the story of Hvar and the local ways of life. Take a walk with your local guide through the old town and Piazza, discover the Arsenal and the first public theatre in Europe, listen to the stories that only locals know.

Itinerary

  • Tvrdava Fortica

    We will start our tour with a car transfer to the Fortress for the best view (and Instagram photo) of the town and Pakleni islands. Then we will return to the town center to really get to know Hvar.

  • Hvar Public Theatre

    Sv. Stephen’s square or Piazza, The Place where locals meet, living room of Hvar. Theatre in the Arsenal building, after being closed for renovation for over 20 years, this year it finally opened its doors for visitors, audience and actors.

    Old streets and Benedictine nunnery, where nuns keep the secret of their unique handicraft which is now a part of UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity - lace making of agave threads. Renaissance nobility, poets like Hanibal Lucic and Petar Hektorovic left their marks not only in Croatian literature but also in town’s architecture.

Hvar with Tea

Tea is born and raised in Hvar, and was incredibly knowledgeable. We faced some unexpected rain right before we were supposed to start, and Tea was so flexible with her time - She proposed we wait a little longer to start our tour and was basically on call until we were ready (even saying if we started and had to stop, we could always pick it back up later). She was SO enthusiastic and nice. We had a wonderful tour, and left with a much deeper knowledge of Hvar, the people, the restaurants, and the culture. I would absolutely recommend any tour with Tea!

We booked a private walking tour that included the Fortress. Our guide Tea was so nice and truly knowledgeable about her home island of Hvar. It was fun to get a locals insight. Tea mixed historical and modern information and connected well with our two 15 year old girls! Thanks Tea!
