Having Zico Tours take us from Split to Plitvice Lakes and on to Zagreb made for a fabulous day and an easy transfer. Plitvice Lakes National Park is absolutely magical in early fall colors. Zico Tours made the visit a pleasure.
Avoid summer if you possibly can! It must be a total zoo trying to walk those narrow paths in summer. There were still tons of tourists when we were there October 5, but our Zico guide, Naned Holjevac, guided us through the park on a route that minimized the crowds (i.e., taking the bus up to the upper lakes and hiking back down from there).
Zico Tours was easy to contact and flexible about scheduling. Naned picked us up at 7:30a in Split. He was a careful driver, a knowledgeable and low-key guide and fun to spend time with. With his guidance, we were able to see all the lakes and waterfalls, visit Rastove village, and reach Zagreb by about 6pm. Perfect!
Zico Tours was the perfect way to go from Split to the lakes to Rastove Village and on to Zagreb, all of which are well worth a visit.
