Walk through the garden. Its viewpoint gives us breathtaking views of the Tagus River and the Ribatejo plains. Tour through the historic center: Cathedral, Church of Santa Maria de Marvila and the Convent of San Francisco (only in passing). We will also make a short stop at the Municipal Market.

Climb to the Templar castle and discover the monumental work of the Convent of Christ. Let yourself be enchanted by one of the most important works of the Renaissance in Portugal.

Outstanding view of the surrounding nature. The Pegões aqueduct is in relatively good condition and it is possible to go up and take beautiful pictures.

We had a fabulous private day tour (2 couples) visiting Tomar, Nazaré and Õbidos with our guide, João. Each of the towns was unique and picturesque and although a bit of a distance (60-90 min) from Lisbon, very doable in a full day tour, with beautiful scenery along the way. Our lunch stop was in Nazaré and it was a seafood feast at a wonderful family owned restaurant. João did not steer us wrong in his recommendations! João was a superb guide. He was very knowledgeable and never made us feel rushed. The vehicle was very comfortable for 2 couples and João was an excellent driver. He also made an unscheduled stop in Belém so we could visit the infamous Pasteis de Belém for the original Portuguese tarts. We recommend this tour… a highlight of our trip to Portugal.

Bruno and nuno were incredible. They were very knowledgeable and flexible. They suggested and tolerated a number of changes to the schedule to accommodate family needs. They brought us wonderful pastries!! They were on time and vigilant the entire day. Absolutely the best tour guides we have ever had!!

Bruno was an amazing tour guide. Not only did he take us to some amazing castles, but he expertly weaved in the story of the Templar Knights to each place we saw. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal and how different events are related. He also ensured that we were comfortable at all times. Each place we visited had something unique about it. The quiet solitude of Santarem, the castle in the middle of the river, Almourol, and finally the first castle built by the Templars, the Castle of Tomar. Each one of them had significant historical importance in the story of Portugal and the Templar Knights. This is a tour I would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend both the tour and the tour company. The tour was professionally organised with good communication. The tour guide Edward was a young man with lots of knowledge, energy, very friendly, great manners and also very flexible with what happened. The sights were very interesting and away from tourist crowds. Tomar is a also beautiful monument .. so nice to see.
