The Basilica (Basilica di Santa Chiara in Italian) is a church dedicated to and contains the remains of Saint Clare of Assisi, a follower of Saint Francis of Assisi and founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, known today as the Order of Saint Clare.

Our guide took the time to show us many unknown parts of Assisi. She also pointed out many shops to visit later. We ended at St. Francis basilica. Beautiful

History and beauty define Assisi

Personal and informative guide. Clearly knowledgeable about Assisi . She really went out of her way to give us a great experience. Assisi can be a challenge to walk due to very hilly terrain so at the end of our time again she went out of her way to get us a taxi service to return us to our hotel. Go.

Our guide was absolutely perfect! Very knowledgeable, patient, and very nice. I feel assured I got to know Assisi in a more profound way after this tour and will follow the suggestions to visit other sites I missed on our first visit. This is an excellent tour if you wish to know in-depth details about the lives of St. Francis and St. Claire, and how the devotion in Assisi has evolved over time. Our guide also gave us excellent suggestions for dining and it was overall a wonderful experience. We will go back next year.

This was one of best cities to walk thru. To know that St Francis began his life there made it extra special. Every Church and home had so much history. If making a choice between Pisa and Assisi, Assisi hands down is the place to go
