Overview

This activity will take you to know the wonderful nocturnal secrets of the tropical rainforest accompanied by a Naturalist Guide. We will visit the trails of one of the best areas of La Fortuna to observe the local flora and fauna at the foot of the Arenal Volcano, Senderos and Mirador El Silencio. We will enter the forest in search of the hourglass frog, the Blue Jeans frog, the largest frog in the country, the “Chicken Eater Frog” and the most beautiful in Costa Rica, the red-eyed tree frog. Also in this place it is possible to observe some species of leaf insects, stick insects, snakes, such as the eyelash viper, snails, Velveteens, the Stone Hand Viper and coral snakes, some mammals such as sloths, opossums and anteaters.

    Let's enter one of the most famous forests in Costa Rica and the world, the tropical rain forest at the foot of 2 volcanoes, the Arenal Volcano and the Cerro Chato Volcano. Our experience will take you to know the history of how our country was formed, the volcanoes in our area, the climate of our area and the observation of the local flora and fauna among which birds such as toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds and parrots stand out. some amphibians and reptiles such as glass frogs, tree frogs, rain frogs and toads such as the humid forest toad or the great giant toad, snakes such as corals, vipers such as the bocaracá, stone hand or the famous velvet, mammals such as coatis, armadillos, opossums, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and squirrel monkeys, a wide variety of plants such as orchids, bromeliads, ferns, mosses and flowering plants.

Magical Night Tour with an Incredible Guide!

Our night tour was a blast! We spotted tons of frogs, bugs, and even some birds. The walk was easy, and even the older participants managed well. I highly recommend hiking shoes or boots—despite the dry season, we all wore rain jackets as it got chilly. Our guide had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife and even took photos for us when some creatures were too tricky to see.

We had a great night walk tour with our guide Norbin. We were in a group of 5 which was great for hearing our guide. We saw vipers, sleeping birds, spiders, and lots of frogs. Very interesting walk and learned lots from our guide. Got some great pics - our guide was very helpful with that. Highly recommend this tour!

Our Arenal night walk was a wonderful experience beginning to end. Pick up and drop off from our hotel was easy. Being in the forest at night was an amazing experience, with the beautiful sounds of nature, many frogs and birds. Brandon can spot all the critters, no matter how well they blend in, and does a great job with animal noises, getting them to respond. This is a must do tour in the Fortuna area! Brandon was very knowledgeable about the animals, plants and the area. We learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of the tour.

Great night jungle tour with Soul - a very knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. We saw Fer de Lance, Costa Ricas most venomous snake crossing the path along with red eyed frogs, toads, a tarrantula, and leaf carrying ants amongst other things. We'd highly recommended.
