Overview

As soon as we pass through the shopping arcade, we will visit Kofuku-ji temple where we can see the beautiful 5 stories pagoda. After taking some good photos, we will be heading to Todai-ji temple. The huge Great Buddha statue await you in the back. Our local guide will explain some histories and interesting facts about Japanese Buddhism and temples! After seeing the Great Buddha statue, we will enjoy viewing Nara on the Nigetsu-do temple! On the top of Todai-ji temple, there is Nigetsu-do temple where we can enjoy the great view of Nara. After that, we will visit some traditional souvenir shops and walk toward Kasuga shrine! What a fun day! Yusuke, our guide was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, engaging and attentive. The deer were the highlight of the day. Loved that they bow before getting their cookie treat. The history, shrines and temples were very interesting.

We had a great time visiting the Great Buddha and area shrines—and feeding all the deer! Gorgeous! I’d recommend to anyone who wants to see some Nara highlights. Our tour guide Shin was very funny and helpful!
