Overview

Discover Essaouira on this day trip with a local guide . Explore the port city's breathtaking sights and streets, and see local markets and jewelers. Depart Marrakech in the morning and head to beautiful Essaouira on the Atlantic Coast. Once you arrive at the port city, formerly known as Mogador, you will have time to enjoy the charming sights of Essaouira. Take pictures of its ocher-colored walls, the beautiful and vibrant Moulay El Hassan square, the markets also known as souks, as well as the little streets of the city's old Medina. Then, enjoy a lunch of fresh fish in a local restaurant. During your trip, you'll also visit an association of Berber women producing argan oil, see the local markets, and wow at the gems in the jeweler's quarter.

    to continue our trip to visit an argan Cooperative on the way as the the region is known for argan oil. See how women in the Cooperative work hardly and with enthusiasm to get the oil from the Argan nuts to make cosmetics or delicious oil for food. You will discover an operation that requires some time and efforts from the women involved.

    Once we arrive in Essaouira, you have the full day to explore medina which is surrounded by medieval walls, with a castle standing at their Southern edge. Its white-washed and blue-shuttered houses give it a gorgeous look. Take a stroll in its amusing narrow streets exploring the ancient French and Portuguese architecture enjoy the beach, visit the harbour and enjoy a delcious lunch in one of the restaurants of the fishing port .if you wish you can take a local guide for a city tour,but we recommend to go all over on your own because it is the best way to visit this small and quiet town you can also surfing or swimming if you are intersting . Return to marrakech in the evening at around 19h30 .

Had an amazing day at the beach. The trip was great, even included a free stop at an argan factory tgat we wasnt expecting. Highly recommended for a great day out

The trip was very easy to organize, we did it from one day to the other and no problems arose from it. Essaouira is a charming city with a very nice sea culture.

We really enjoyed the flight to Essaouira. We were assigned to a larger coach at Jemal al Fnaa square at 8 a.m. and the driver explained the day's program. After about 2 hours of driving there was a 15 minute coffee stop at a "rest stop" and another stop at an argan oil women's cooperative. The women there were very nice and showed how argan oil is made. You could buy various products there afterwards, but you weren't pressured to do so. The stop lasted about 30 minutes, which was too long for us personally. We would have preferred to arrive in Essaouira a little earlier. Due to the stops, we weren't there until around 12 p.m. and then got a 1.5 hour city tour that was very informative. At the end you were taken to a restaurant where you could eat, but you didn't have to. You had free time from 1:30 p.m. until the bus left at 4 p.m., which went by far too quickly with time to eat. A great day with ocean view :)

Really good tour, Essaouira is beautiful and I would highly recommend if you want a change of scenery from Marrakesh. It’s quieter with places to eat and an equally good market to explore. Extra time to explore the market would have been great but overall a really good tour.
