Overview

The 2-hours horse ride will start at Diabat, a little village near Essaouira. You will ride on our Arabian-Barb-horses, conducted by our professional guides, along the fantastic beach where you pass along the seaside. You will turn back passing the forest of Eucalypti and Mimosa. This ride is adapted for beginners and groups with children. In our service is included the transfer between Essaouira and our Ranch. It is possible to do this activity from the morning 9:00 until sunset.

My favorite day in Morocco

I first went in the morning for an hour with my friends who had never ridden a horse before. It was such a good experience. We were staying in a riad, but a van picked us up and took us to the location. We rode on the beach and it was gorgeous. Our guide Mustafa was very good at directing us. I loved it so much that I came back for the 2 hour sunset tour where I was able to gallop. It was the best day of my 2 weeks in Morocco. I would come back every year if I could.

I would highly recommend a ride or two at at this wonderful ranch. I visited Esaouria with the intention of being able to ride as much as possible and managed to fit in several morning and one evening ride while my partner kite surfed in Essaouria. Erica and the guides could not have been more accommodating in making sure that I was put with the right horse.The guides generally speak good English ( my French is bad) Really enjoyed galloping along the beach and the amazing landscape, going up and down dunes. I told the ranch that I am an intermediate rider and was put on suitable horses.My advice would be to under rather than over state your riding ability when visiting the stables as the horses are beautiful, and spirited stallions rather than the worn down animals that I had rather dreaded when I initially booked.I have come back with more confidence in my riding ability since the experience and help of the guides. A final important note -on the beach in Esaouira there are many young men with horses who encourage tourists to ride them ..they do not have any insurance and do not question your riding ability so do not be tempted. Book with Ranch de Diabat instead ...You won't regret it and I hope to get back there one day very soon!!!

We have been riding at Ranch de Diabat since 2017, but have only been able to restart today due to Covid restrictions . Over many years we have ridden horses in numerous countries which makes us somewhat qualified to assess this facility as ‘ outstanding ‘ & recommended it to those seriously interested in first class horse riding . The horses are beautifully kept & well trained , in a very caring environment. The staff speak good French & most speak good English . The combination of surf & desert terrain make for interesting riding . Basic tuition can be provided , but , on balance, they cater more for experienced riders. Riding hats are provided and the horses’ tack (saddles, bridles) is well kept. Their first class horses are mainly ‘ Barbs ‘ - which are ideally suited to this type of riding. Our guide/horse master was an excellent horseman and attentive to us & the horses at all times. If you are able to go to Diabat I am sure you will enjoy the experience . For us, a trip to Essaouira would be incomplete without a ride (or two) at Ranch de Diabat.

I started my horse riding journey as a total beginner at the beginning of February 2021. I knew I was in good hands from the 1st lesson and the experience just keeps getting better. I started to gallop on my 6th lesson and I am improving with each session. Ekirka, Omar and the fantastic team at the ranch make sure I feel welcome and safe every time I am at the ranch and every time I am on a horse. This is a fantastic place to learn how to ride and look after horses and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Incredible Place, highly professional with excellent guides, attention to detail and safety. The horses are forward going and a pleasure to ride. On the 2 hour ride we went past old ruins, through a forest and along the beach, it was a small group and the guide was fantastic, very attentive and able to impart a lot of information with ease and flow. They will come and collect you from your hotel and return you afterwards, it is a really nice place to hang out though, sunny, peaceful and they have a restaurant on site so you can even order your food before riding and it will be ready when you return.
