Overview

Discover the magic of Edinburgh and the amazing sights that inspired JK Rowling’s wizarding world – all with our fun Potter-head guide! This small-group walking tour is perfect for people who want a more personalised in-depth Potter themed tour of the city. We’ll meet at Tron Kirk on The Royal Mile, and the first stop of the tour is at the historic Waverley Train Station. Then head to Edinburgh University Old College – a famous old campus which provided lots of inspiration to JK Rowling’s creations. We continue through the atmospheric old streets of the Old Town, stopping at Greyfriars Kirkyard which inspired Tom Riddle’s Grave and a shop that inspired Diagon Alley on Victoria Street. We’ll also pass by the Elephant Café where JK Rowling sat for many hours dreaming up the world of Harry Potter! We conclude our tour near the city’s most famous landmark, beautiful Edinburgh Castle! This is a great tour for families & die-hard fans of Harry Potter!

    After meeting your guide and fellow Potter-heads near Tron Kirk Market, your tour starts with a stroll along Edinburgh’s world-famous Royal Mile!

  • Edinburgh Waverley Station

    We’ll stop at a great viewpoint to see the historical Waverley Train station, much used by JK Rowling and an inspiration for trains being an iconic part of a young wizard's journey.

  • New Town

    Looking over Edinburgh New Town, your guide will point out some key features that played a major part in the creation of the magical Harry Potter world.

Jackson was super knowledgeable on all the facts and was very personable. Definitely a very relaxed tour would highly recommend for any long time Harry Potter fans or people looking to get into it!

We were visiting Edinburgh for a long weekend and The Harry Potter Walking Tour with Benjamin was one of the highlights of the trip for us. Both our daughters thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour and we found Benjamin a very knowledgeable and engaging guide for both adults and children alike. We came away knowing much more about Edinburgh and of course lots of lovely nuggets of information about Harry Potter, where JK Rowling drew her inspiration from and some of the sights that inspired the various scenes for the story to evolve from. Thank you Benjamin for a lovely tour. It flew by and we really enjoyed it.
