Overview

This walking tour is designed to give you a broad understanding of Edinburgh, it's history and culture.  The tour runs for around two hours taking in many of the sites of the Old Town which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We strive to be informative yet entertaining on this tour, delivering an overview of Edinburgh with the passion it deserves.

Itinerary

  • Edinburgh Old Town

    The walking tour will take you up and down the network of cobbled streets and back alleys that make up the historic heart of the Old Town of Edinburgh.  The tour runs for around two hours and you can expect to see sights such as St Giles Cathedral, the Mercat Cross, the George Heriot School and Edinburgh Castle (from the outside).  Every guide who works with us is strongly encouraged to develop their own tour route to help ensure that they are passionate about the stories and history that they deliver on their tour.  We believe this tour will give you a good understanding of Edinburgh and is a great basis for the other tours that we offer.

Fun and informative tour with Euan

We had a wonderful tour experience with Euan. We did the Old Town Walking Tour in the morning and liked it so much that we signed up for the Edinburgh Castle tour with the same company (and same guide, Euan) for later that afternoon. Euan was born and grew up in Edinburgh, so he has a true local's perspective on the city. He weaved together a compelling narrative of the past and present of Edinburgh, and made several connections between the history of Scotland with that of the rest of the world.

Fantastic experience! This was my first activity I did when I got to Edinburgh. The story telling and history was great, walked all over Old Town, and got good recommendations for what else to do in the area. Would definitely book again!
