Wander with our guide through the Jewish quarter and see the famous landmarks. Discover the awful stories of families who were hiding from the Germans in WWII and feel the tense atmosphere from that period of the war. Hear how hundreds of Jewish children were saved from deportation and explore the beautiful Jewish district. Learn about Anne Frank and see the Westerkerk and Anne Frank House from the outside. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to enter the house (unguided). If you book 7 weeks or more in advance we guarantee to get you tickets for the house. If booked less than 7 weeks, we offer an alternative way to explore the house via a Virtual Reality experience if we are unsuccessful in securing tickets.

    We will start the tour next to the impressive Portuguese Synagogue. One of Amsterdams most beautiful buildings. We will learn about the history of this museum that is still in use for the Jewish community of Amsterdam

    We start the tour nearby the Jewish Historical Museum. We will see the 4 Jewish synagogues of the Museum.

  • Anne Frank House

    We will bring you to the Anne Frank House and show it from the outside. You will hear of the relationship between the secret annex, the local neighbourhood and the nearby Westerkerk. The Anne Frank House is a museum with a story. If you book 7 weeks or more in advance we will have tickets to visit the Anne Frank House. If tickets are not available anymore, we will take you 'inside' the house via a virtual reality simulation, which is included in the price as an alternative option.

Anne Frank house and history tour.

Tour was amazing Guido was a fun and interesting, informative tour guide. We learned so much about the city and history. The Anne Frank house has steep stairs my be hard for older and disabled people, also it is a little confined so if you suffer from claustrophobic may want to pass on going into the house. On the whole this tour is well worth the time and money. We enjoyed it a lot.

It’s a walking tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide, Guido. It was a wonderful experience although the weather wasn’t that good, rainy & misty. Over all it’s all worth it!

Chris is an excellent tour guide. He's knowledgeable about Amsterdam history and the Jewish experience there. He was very adaptable to our interests and provided a strong basic understanding of the city layout, city culture, and impact of the city to the world. Having a private tour had several benefits - adapting the experience to our interests, ability to address questions, and, yes, arranging the tickets to tour the Ann Frank house.

We travel a great deal as a family and Chris is hands-down the best guide we have ever had. He brought a difficult subject to life and engaged wonderfully with all the age groups in our large family. We were lucky enough to have him for two days. He showed himself to be extremely knowledgable about Amsterdam (and Dutch history) as well as being warm and friendly. This is an excellent tour and we recommend that you ask for Chris!
