Overview

10 hour private car tour to see Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle with knowledgable driver-guide in Mercedes V Class executive minivan. We start by driving through London to Hampton Court. Enjoy a fully guided tour of Hampton Court Palace and see two Royal Palaces in one: Henry VIII's Tudor palace and the 17th century baroque Palace built King William III and Mary II. This is a family friendly royal palace with a maze, an amazing art collection, Tudor kitchens, great exhibits and some of the finest gardens in the country. Quick lunch stop (not included in tour cost). We then drive to Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II's favourite residence, to see the State Apartments used for official state and events and to wonder at St George's Chapel, QEII's final resting place. Partially self guided visit to Windsor Castle with complimentary audioguide due to venue's guiding restrictions. Not only two but in reality three royal palaces and 1,000 years of history in a day!

  • Windsor Castle

    Windsor Castle is the world's oldest and largest continuously inhabited Royal Castle, home to HM Queen Elizabeth II. Visit the State Apartments used for Official State Visits and events with its amazing collection of art, armoury, tapestries and furniture. Paintings by the likes of Holbein, Van Dyck, Rubens, Rembrandt, Titian, Canaletto and Gainsborough, as well as frescoes, by Antonio Verrio. Wonder at St George's Chapel one of the finest examples of English Gothic architecture where Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, burial place of royalty and the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter. *Note St George's Chapel is closed for visits on Sundays. **As Windsor Castle is primarily an Official Royal Residence in use (and not just a visitor attraction strictly speaking) it is sometimes subject to last minute closures. We will always check opening schedule once you've booked the tour and will notify you of any planned closures in advance when possible.

    Visit Hampton Court Palace and see two palaces in one. Tudor Palace: Home to Henry VIII who married six times, the fate of his six wives was as follows: divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded and survived. See their story. The Baroque Palace built in the 17th century by Christopher Wren, England's most prominent architect, home to William III and Mary II and later the Hanoverian Kings.

Transfer from airport to hotel via Windsor and Hampton Court Palace

David was a great guide and the Mercedes minibus was extraordinarily comfortable. He picked us up from the airport and off we went to Windsor and Hampton Court Palace before taking us to our hotel. Great day!

Great personalized experience

Peter picked us up from our hotel promptly at the meeting time and took us to Hampton Court first. We had chosen the pre purchase ticket option and it was very efficient and easy - Peter told us about the history on the way, pointed out where to start and set us on our way. After we were finished at Hampton Court, we headed to Windsor Castle. Again, Peter shared the history while we drove, took us into the castle to the point where he was allowed and then set us on our way. The one-on-one private tour is a great option and exactly what we were looking for - a personalized experience that takes all of the guess work out of traveling and visiting highlights close to London.

This is our 4th time we have used a private tour guide in our travels abroad. All have been great but we must say this tour with Peter was the best experience we ever had! He was so personable it was delightful spending the day with him! We felt we made a friend! However his historical knowledge of Hampton Court, Windsor Castle and British history in general was amazing and he made the entire day remarkable! There was not a question he could not answer. He is exceptional in every way! I’m only sorry we could only express our satisfaction with this experience by only 5 stars! Peter is heads above 5 stars, more like 50 stars! He far exceeded our expectations! Much appreciation to such a fine and knowledgeable gentleman! Thank you!
