Overview

The award winning Medieval Museum is the only museum in Europe built over two National monuments, the 13th century Choristers’ Hall and the 15th century Mayor’s Wine Vault. Tours can be taken by re-enactors or using our audio guides, at no extra cost. Don’t miss the incredible Cloth of Gold vestments which were lost for over 120 years after they were hidden from Cromwell’s army, the Great Charter Roll which was viewed by Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Ireland and the only piece of clothing to survive King Henry VIII’s reign, ‘The Cap of Maintenance’.

International Festival of Time

My second time visiting, this time I went for the International Festival of Time and it was very interesting. The museum staff was very helpful as I had some luggage with me which there stored safely formed during my visiting time.

All of the museums together are interesting. There were interesting exhibits in the Treasures, Silver and Time museums and all of the staff were helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

I found the museum very interesting, with a lot of information and objects. You can stay hours reading and seeing all of them. The video is very interesting too, and the employers at the entrance are very nice.

Unexpectedly impressive visit to the Medieval Treasures Museum. Wonderful 45 min tour (included in the admission price) from Jamie. Marvellous collection, in a beautiful building, successfully integrating medieval building elements with modern exhibition spaces. The small Silver Museum (one of 4 museums plus Walking Tour included in the €20 Freedom Pass) is well worth a visit.
