Overview

Choose between Waiotapu or Oarakei Korako geothermal areas for your first stop on this 7-hour day trip. Then see Huka Falls, Lake Taupo and the surrounding areas. Admission fees to the thermal area of your choice are included, but lunch is at your own expense. This guided small-group tour operates with a maximum of 11 passengers and includes pickup from your centrally located accommodation in Rotorua. Please note that this tour is not suitable for children under 2 years, as part of the group - It can be booked as a private group tour - please ask TripAdvisor/Viator to contact us for the custom price Guaranteed departure - Due to low numbers and sustained losses caused by Covid 19, until further notice we will need a minimum of 2 people (or price equivalent) to run tours

    Also known as the Hidden Valley this is an large thermal valley with many small geysers, mudpools and boiling water. You can choose between Waiotapu or Orakei Korako for your tour - unfortunately there is not time to visit both

    Vist the area - see the Lake and buy yourself lunch while walking around for about 1 hour

  • Huka Falls tracks

    We do not actually visit the tracks - but walk to the lookout to see the falls

Dallas was the best! He was so sweet and helpful and extremely patient and accommodating for a couple others on our tour. I appreciate his kindness, making this a wonderful experience! I'd probably sigges waitamo over oreki if you want a touristy experience

This was a fun trip, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Orakei Korako was a fascinating geothermal wonderland and totally loved the Huka falls. Lake Taupo was a nice place to have lunch. The tour itself was delegated to another operator and Sylvia was our driver. She was nice and friendly and gave ample time at all stops to explore at our own pace.

Special sights , an enjoyable day, full of amazing colors: starting with Ladi Knox Geyser, than astonising colors of the geothermal area in waiotapu ( along with the distinctive smell :-) ), Huka falls and lake Taupo. Our guide- Sandra- was very proffessional, made the tour enlightening and fun, paid attention and accordingly adjusted the tour to our specific group needs, and made the day most enjoyable.
