**A Day of Wonders in the Icelandic Highlands** Join us on this fantastic adventure to the Icelandic highlands, where you will witness some of the most stunning natural wonders of the country. You will visit Háifoss, the third highest waterfall in Iceland, and its neighbor Granni, cascading down a deep gorge in the Fossá river¹. You will explore Gjáin, a hidden oasis of greenery, caves, and waterfalls amid the barren volcanic landscape². You will marvel at Sigöldugljúfur, a canyon filled with countless waterfalls that create a fairy-tale scenery³. And you will get close to Hekla, one of Iceland's most active and feared volcanoes, and learn about its history and legends³.     Amazing oasis at the roots of Iceland highlands, with small waterfalls and an old farm. Game of Thrones shooting location. We will walk to the Old farm and into the Gjáin oasis. The walk is around 500 meters each way. Outdoor shoes are recommended when exploring Gjáin oasis.

    One of Iceland's highest waterfalls, with an amazing view into the valley of Þjórsárdalur. We will drive up the rocky gravel roads leading to the Háifoss waterfall. After we reach the parking we will walk towards the viewpoint and take in this epic natural beauty.

Gorgeous waterfalls in the highlands

Small group means faster travel and more time at locations. This was a beautiful tour of several gorgeous waterfalls. Our guide was very pleasant! The lunch stop at the highlands center was also very nice, with a small but good selection of food. Don't skip out on this tour!

We had a great time exploring the highlands. The tour takes you off the beaten path to find some hidden treasures. Our guide (whose name I can’t remember) did an amazing job.

I cannot stress enough how this private tour with Iceland in Motion is a hidden gem and worth every penny spent. Thor and his colleagues provide a personal experience for small parties away from the principal tourist trails with exhilarating views that exceed golden circle highlights. The trip was so spectacular that I have taken it twice, once in 2022 and once this year. If you choose this excursion with Iceland in Motion, I know you will be awestricken by the sights of the high country and the connection to Icelandic history provided by Thor and his guides. After three trips to Iceland and numerous excursions, this is far and away the best of all!
