Itinerary

  • Thingvellir National Park

    Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.

  • Laugarvatn (Pass By)

    Laugarvatn sits next to a beautiful lake of the same name in a geothermally active area. The plumes of super-heated vapor billowing into the air in this area are used by the locals to bake rye bread in the ground!

  • Geysir

    Next, visit the surreal Geysir geothermal area on foot, stopping at bubbling ponds, steam vents, and Geysir and Strokkur geysers. Stick around long enough to watch the Strokkur geyser erupt (around every 10 minutes), spurting a column of water up to 98 foot (30 meters) in the air

  • Gullfoss Waterfall

    The next destination is Gullfoss – the Golden Waterfall, where the waters of the mighty Hvíta (white) river are swept into a 70 meters deep canyon.

    After enjoyable hike around falls hop back on the bus for the journey to the lake-filled, 3,000-year-old Kerid crater. Stop to marvel at its magical-looking lake and colorful slopes.

    A drive through Reykjanes Peninsula admiring vast lava fields, cone volcanoes and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean before we arrive in the Blue Lagoon.

  • Hvammsvik Hot Springs

    (OPTIONAL) If you select to end your day at Hvammsvík Baths, the bus will head towards stunning Whale Fjord where the SPA is located. There, you can immerse yourself in the perfect combination of geothermal water from 1400 meters below the surface and seawater from the nearby Atlantic Ocean. This extraordinary blend of water forms a continuous flow that cascades between pools, spills over their edges, and returns to the ocean, guaranteeing exceptional water quality and purity.

    (OPTIONAL) The Sky Lagoon is Iceland’s newest spa experience. We’ll bring you here for two luxurious hours, and you’ll enjoy yourself wallowing in an enormous infinity pool with unobstructed ocean views. There’s a swim-up bar hidden in a cave, and a warm waterfall to enjoy!

    (OPTIONAL) Up to visit an iconic Blue Lagoon Lava Fields & SPA? You can choose to head inside the SPA (select a proper option during booking process) to enjoy a soak in the steamy waters while admiring surrounding lava fields, or (if you do not wish to swim there) take a walk around lava fields and visit the skin care products store or restaurant.

Fantastic day out would highly recommend , word of warning I fried my I-phone staying in the blue lagoon too long !! Fantastic experience, so many contrasts in the landscapes and weather , great for photography

Great tour

This was a great day. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of facts about the areas we visited. We had lots of time at each area to see around and were told what time to be back and where he would be waiting. We had time to eat and to visit toilets. He made extra stop as we were making good time and had 2hrs 45 at the lagoon which was plenty of time. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was an excellent advantage. The mini bus was comfortable although a bit more leg room and space would have been nice as it was raining and there was nowhere to hang up your wet coat when you got back in and also you had to take it off before boarding to prevent hitting anyone with it.

12 hour Golden Circle with Blue Lagoon

Very long day (12 hours) and pick up process could be clearer as there were lots of buses at the pick up stop and this caused some confusion. But it was an amazing today. So much packed in. Loved the 2 hour Blue Lagoon stop at the end. Christina our driver / guide was fantastic. So funny and helpful. Always smiling and very welcoming and professional and incredibly patient. She was the highlight of the trip.

Fantastic experience, especially the geothermal bakery. It was even better doing it in winter, or off peak. Much quieter than summer crowds. Tour guide was brilliant. Price was good too. Worth considering separate tours for hot springs or kerid crater as it did make each stop shorter.
