Overview

Explore a spectacular outlet glacier of Vatnajökull on this family-friendly 3-hour glacier group tour, limited to 15 people. Your certified glacier guide will provide you with crampons and ice axes and ensure you are informed on their use before stepping onto the ice. During your tour, learn about the behavior and history of the glacier while your guide safely leads you through an icy wonderland with deep crevasses, narrow ridges, and ice sculptures. Due to its nearby location, expect to spend up to 2 full hours on the ice. This glacier walk is an easy excursion and requires no prior experience to enjoy.

Terrific glacier hike

Agust was a fantastic tour guide for our glacier hike. We felt very safe hiking the glacier with him and he had a lot of fun facts about the glacier and the overall local ecosystem to share with us. We would definitely be comfortable choosing Icelandic Mountain Guides again without any hesitation!

Breathtaking experience!

I absolutely loved the Ice Cave and Glacier Walk experience I did at the beginning of November. The experience could not have been better, it was so easy to book and the reception upon arrival was great. The views were absolutely stunning, but the real gem was our guide Heini! She was so energetic and knowledgeable. It is clear she is passionate about what she does, and that enthusiasm really made for a great day exploring the glacier. I loved that we got to explore such a magnificent slice of nature, and do it in such good hands: I felt very safe the whole time, and I learned SO much from Heini about glaciers and the surrounding landscape. I also went solo, and Heini was very kind to offer to take photos which I really appreciated. 11/10, would recommend to everyone!

We booked the 3 hour glacier hike tour and had a great experience! Our guide, Heini, was wonderful! She was very energetic and knowledgeable. We felt very safe the entire time. Would highly recommend this company for anyone looking at doing a glacier hike.
