It is impossible not to think of the excellent dishes and exquisite wines that can be found in the city.     This is the symbolic heart of Siena, a square beloved by the locals, who gather here to enjoy its vibrant atmosphere. Surrounded by historic buildings, it’s the perfect place to begin our culinary journey. Nearby, we’ll indulge in a tasting of the region’s finest charcuterie and cheeses, each bite perfectly complemented by a glass of local wine, offering a true taste of Sienese flavors.

    Located next to the historic gallery that houses an extensive collection of Sienese masterpieces spanning from the late medieval to the Renaissance era, we’ll savor a traditional plate of pici. This hand-rolled pasta, a true specialty of Siena, is served with a rich and flavorful sauce, capturing the essence of local cuisine.

    In front of one of Siena’s most iconic locations, we’ll enjoy some of the region’s most cherished traditional dishes: Ribollita, a hearty vegetable and bread soup, or Pappa Senese, a rustic and flavorful bread-based dish. These comforting meals offer a taste of authentic Tuscan and Sienese home-cooking.

    This historic street runs through the heart of Siena, cutting through the city from south to north. Lined with charming cafés, grand palaces, and shops offering everything from local crafts to fine goods, it’s the perfect route to explore the city's vibrant culture.

Thank you to our wonderful and very knowledgeable tour guide Sandra, we had a wonderful day being a "local" in Siena. Sandra had wonderful stories to tell us about Siena and took us to spots that gave us an understanding of life in Siena. Since we were in Siena off season, we were lucky to have a private tour. The local stops for wine, antipasti, pici and of course desserts and espresso, provided us with a true flavor of the Sienese way of life. We highly recommend this tour. Jill and Pasquale
