Overview

T Partake in a sensational visit of a family estate and a traditional olive mill in Archanes. The owners will lead you to their production area and introduce you to extra virgin olive oil, from harvest to different ways to produce this traditional olive oil. This will be followed by olive oil sample tasting You will also have a chance to taste other local products. Then you will have a guide tour in a new and dynamic boutique winery. Visit the facilities, from production area to bottling area, cellars. This will be followed by a wine tasting with a sample of 5 wines representing some of the most interesting local grapes varietals. Discover traditional Cretan cooking with a mezze bar visit for a real Cretan lunch. Prepare for several plates of cold and warm mezzes to be brought to your table to share. This is a fantastic experience in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. Continue your wine tasting here with 5 of the best wines of the island perfectly paired with your food.

Wonderful wine tour!

We ended up lucking out and getting a private tour. Petros was very knowledgeable and great to talk to, and really knew his stuff as a trained chef. We went to 2 wineries with very different styles and vibes, and then went to a small restaurant where we were treated to a great lunch. There was also a store in the restaurant where we could sample oils and vinegars. The wine region is very close to Heraklion and it was a very enjoyable day.

Petras was a true gourmand and wine connoisseur who provided a running commentary on his experiences as a chef, love of all things Cretan and supplied extra details about olive oil and wine that we hadn’t learned in our other tasting experiences. We were with one other couple, so a relaxed, friendly pace. It’s a true joy to have your guide so passionate about his adopted home and willing to share, making for a special experience.

Exceptional tour with an amazingly knowledgeable guide! We were able to taste and learn about Cretan wines and olive oils in a relaxed, personalized way. Lunch at Bakaliko along with wine pairings made for a delicious memorable day. Highly recommend this tour!

It was a great, fully packed day. Our tour guide picked us up at the hotel, was super knowledgeable and accommodating. We tried delicious olive oil, local wine and had a lovely lunch in a small town.
