Overview

We drive through the Bavarian Alps with our panoramic windows from our busses, and you see the lake Chiemsee, and we bring you to Salzburg. There you have time to explore the city on your own. We explain the most important points of the city to make your visit unforgettable. Visit the spots from the movie the Sound of Music, like the castle Mirabel. Our guides show you on the map where are the narrow streets, the best spots for pictures discover and help you to find the birthplace of Wolfgang Mozart. Visit the famous Getreidegasse. See the Hohensalzburg, landmark of the city and largest preserved fortress in Central Europe. Just in high-season April-October: We take you through the natural paradise Wolfgang's lake on a boat trip to St. Gilgen in our private boat. From 18th November till 18th December, we have the christmas event at the Wolfgang's lake. On the way back to Munich we pass the Mondsee, scene of the film classic "The Trapp family."

Itinerary

  • Salzburger Altstadt

    Meeting Point: 08:10hrs in front of Galeria Kaufhof department store at Karlsplatz 21, 80335 Munich 08:30am departure to Salzburg. Explanations on the way by the guide. Passengers are handed over a map in English of the city center with marked locations of the sights. Exact information is given by guide. 11:00-11:30 AM Arrival Salzburg, at Bust Terminal: Paris-Lodron-Straße. Departure time is announced by guide. Duration of the stay: approx. 2,5 – 3 hours. Guide offers orientation walk through city center: duration approx. 30 min. Free time at the guests´ own disposal. Time for lunch, sightseeing and shopping. 14:15-14:45 PM Departure from Bus Terminal: Paris-Lodron-Straße in direction to Lake Wolfgang. Ride through Lake Distict: Fuschelsee.

    14:45-15:15 PM Arrival at St. Wolfgang / St. Gilgen. Approx. 20-35 min of free time at the guests´ own disposal. After that optional boat ride across Lake Wolfgang to St. Gilgen / St. Wolfgang. Duration approx. 35 min. Passengers who don´t want to do boat ride are transferred to the meeting point by tour bus (duration of the bus ride approx. 30 min.) 16:15-16:30 PM Departure from St. Gilgen / St. Wolfgang

    Ride through Lake District by bus: Krotensee & Mondsee. In the village of Mondsee the church of Mondsee is visible (Sounds of Music, wedding scene).

Comfortable ride to Salzburg with good guidance on places to visit.

Our second tour booked through Viator. This trip as well as previous trip was great. The driver was very good. We were dropped off conveniently near middle of town not far from bridges. It was a relaxing and smooth ride across Germany through the Austrian border. It was Winter so there was no stop at the Lake District or boat ride. Which was fine as our family preferred more time to explore the Salzburg shops especially the Christmas markets, restaurants and landmarks. Melanie our chaperone was great in making sure guest felt comfortable walking about town and finding their way back to the rendezvous point on time. Melanie provided good instructions, historical information and recommendations with a little humor which made the engagement with our guide comfortable.

Our tour started with a relaxing bus ride from central Munich to Salzburg, with informative commentary along the way. Upon arrival in Salzburg, our guide took us on a guided walk around town, pointing out key sights. We were then given free time to explore to our heart's content. Our day ended with another relaxing bus ride back to Munich. Out tour guide (Melanie) and driver (Robert) were professional, helpful and accommodating; nothing was too much trouble for them.

Melanie was a terrific tour guide and articulated the sites and opportunities both in Salzburg, the Lake District and Munich. The drive by Hubert was seamless. The day trip was well worth it with wonderful sites in Salzburg for young and old.
