My partner and I really enjoyed today’s walking tour with our fabulous host Nicolai. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The walking tour is a great way to learn more in depth about germanys history as for me personally reading stuff in museums etc the information stops going in after a certain point but this tour it was really easy to keep engaged. Nicolai asked us all at the start where everyone was from and it was a nice icebreaker and insightful to see how diverse the group was with people from all different places and cultures joining. If visiting Berlin I would highly recommend.
We knew we wanted to do this before going but waited until the last minute to book- we went in January (off season) so we got lucky, but I would not be surprised if this sells out quickly during busier seasons so plan better than we did! The drive to the castle was lengthy but the van has heat/AC so temperature is comfortable and you even get to ride on the Autobahn which wasn't crazy because the guide was driving reasonably, but still cool! The castle was incredibly cool and the guide was always concerned about us, pointing out bathrooms nearby while he got our tickets, offering to take photos of interesting spots, and slipping jokes into the information. Â Because it was the offseason we were also able to see the Pharmacy museum. Â Then you walk down to the main shopping area and he gave us an hour or so to do whatever we wanted while he went to get the car, he made recommendations based on what we had told him about ourselves and took a few more pictures before we headed back. Â He also made recommendations about what we could do the rest of our time in Frankfurt. Â Would definitely recommend this tour and our guide- Michael!Â
I wanted to do this tour when we visited Munich in December 2024 however it wasn't available during our visit. Fortunately we were back in Munich in February 2025 so we were able to book the tour then. Jake was our guide and he was very passionate about the subject, and honest about his background and perspective on the 3rd Reich. I particularly appreciated that and I was able to share my experience of knowing someone who was involved in it. The fact that my wife really enjoyed the tour says a lot about Jake's passion for the subject as she's not particularly into the history leading up to WW2. There was a lot of information packed into a relatively short space of time and Jake's enthusiasm meant that the tour ran over time slightly. I didn't mind this at all as the only thing that prevents this review from being a 5 is that I wish there had been more time in each location. I'd definitely recommend this tour, even if you're not particularly into history.
This was a fantastic 3 1/2 hour tour that takes you on a swift and educational journey through Berlin's fascinating history, literally following in the footsteps of some of the most famous and infamous figures in world history. What made the tour exceptional was our brilliant and affable guide Steve, who combines in depth subject knowledge with a natural story-telling ability to help navigate some weighty subject manner, shifting effortlessly from sincere gravitas to light-hearted anecdote. We were enthralled from start to finish.
My wife bought tickets for a family Christmas present and I didn't even know the name of the show until I was standing in front of the theater, so I had no clue what to expect. The theater itself is stunning and I don't think there is a bad seat in the place as the view seemed to be great for everyone. I have no idea what the theme of the show was and even after watching it, I still don't know what the theme was. That said the show was absolutely fantastic, the costumes, the dance routines and acrobatics on the trampolines and the stage even turned into a swimming pool for parts of the show. The stage design was amazing and there was so much going on a times, I was lost but was still loving it. If there was any weakness in the show, I would say most of the songs were OK at best but this show is all about the spectacular and they nailed that. It was like watching a living work of art on stage and if your ever in Berlin, then I would add this to your list of things to see.
