Incredibly moving and informative visit to Dachua Concentration Camp Memorial Site in the morning followed by a lengthy 3-hour walking tour of various significant WWII sites around the city of Munich in the late afternoon. The entire day ran from 9am to 6pm so it is very physically demanding but well worth it. The entire tour consisted of two separate parts separated by a 1-hour break in between that gave us time to rest and have some lunch at a nearby restaurant (lunch is not associated with the tour operator). Attendees should be aware that the group uses a combination of public train and bus transportation to get to and from Dachau (all paid for by the tour operator) but everything else is on foot. You need to be in good physical condition for all the walking and standing, bring water/snacks, and appropriate clothing for the day. Would highly recommend this tour combination. Our tour guides (Achim for the Dachau portion and Josh for the WWII portion) were excellent and full of relevant knowledge of the subjects and the history behind them. Josh, in particular, is an academic in the field and had a wealth of knowledge about WWII and the Nazi regime.
