Your official guide awaits you at the exit of the Lyon Fourvière funicular station to help you understand the city from its founding to the present day. You begin your visit with the splendid panorama dominating Lyon from the ancient Roman forum square. You then visit the immense Notre Dame de Fourvière basilica, its crypt and its chapel. You then continue with a visit to the archaeological site of Lyon. where the theater and the odeon are still used. If you wish to delve deeper into the visit, your guide invites you to follow him to discover the treasures of the Lyon archaeological museum.

We had an incredible afternoon with our guide Romain. He was incredibly knowledgeable and presented the information in a relatable, entertaining and digestible manner. We got a great balance of the history and modern context. Besides touring the Basilica and Roman ruins, we were shown the old Lyon streets, secret passage ways, churches and other points of interest. We concluded our afternoon with an amazing lunch he recommended. Thanks so much Romain! It was an informative and memorable day we will cherish long after we leave Lyon.
