Overview

Travel in style with an experienced driver guide who goes the extra mile to make your tour fun, informative and safe. In 7-8 hours we escort you to and round the world’s largest and oldest inhabited Castle which Queen Elizabeth II called home and is her final resting place within St George’s Chapel. Visit the unbelievable state apartments and the beautiful town of Windsor on the banks of The River Thames. * PLUS we stop at historic Runnymede to view the JFK and Magna Carta memorials. (which isn’t offered on most Windsor half day tours.) ** PLUS the opportunity to be escorted to Kensington Palace and gardens on return to Central London. This being the former home of Princess Diana and her boys William and Harry. This Tour can also be customised to your needs too, including lunch stop or perhaps as a layover tour from Heathrow Airport.

Itinerary

  • Windsor Castle

    We visit the amazing Windsor Castle, the family home to British kings and queens for over 1,000 years. The size of the 13 acre Castle is breathtaking, and it is the largest and oldest occupied Castle in the world and it’s where Her Majesty The Queen chose to spend most of her time and called home. You might even time your visit when The new King Charles III is in residence! Look at the flag flying from the Castle’s Round Tower; if it’s the Royal Standard The King will be there too.

  • Thames Charters - Windsor

    We then walk alongside The River Thames watching the boats and wildlife including “The King’s Swans” and cross the bridge which separates Windsor from Eaton (home of Prince William’s private school!)

  • Windsor

    We tour the small town of Windsor immediately upon leaving the Castle. We tour the small quaint streets and shops (including the smallest street in Uk). We also see The Long Walk entrance to The Castle and a view to Frogmore, where Harry and Megan once resided!

  • Runnymede National Trust

    PLUS Either on our way to or back from Windsor we visit the JF Kennedy and Magna Carter memorials. The JFK memorial sits on an acre of land designated to the USA from the UK to remember one of the greatest leaders of modern times. The Magna Carta statue was designed in 1957 to honour democracy and liberty charter first signed here in 1215 by King John and honoured by The American Bar to this day.

  • Kensington Palace

    Make Kensington Palace your drop off point and maybe have lunch there in the outstanding gardens or restaurants on your way back to Central London. Kensington Palace is where Princess Diana lived and where Prince William and lovely Kate resided with their beautiful children before moving to Windsor. I will walk you up through the Royal Kensington Gardens and introduce you to the Palace and grounds. * Entrance to the Palace and museum is optional and ticket only.

A great guide, Barry, personable and knowledgeable, made for a perfect day

Our driver/guide, Barry, was excellent, very personable. He came into the castle with us and was our personal guide, explaining the history of everything we were seeing. He picked an excellent place for lunch in Windsor. He paced the day perfectly. We never felt rushed, nor did we feel like there was wasted time. The extra places we visited on the way back rounded out a great day.
