    After meeting with your guide you’ll wander over to the famous Rick’s Café, which you may have heard of from a little movie called Casablanca. We won’t go inside, but you’ll want to note where it is for a return visit later on in your own time, we’re sure! Nearby, you’ll spot the Sqala tower, with canons dating back to the Portuguese era and a view of the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Old Medina of Casablanca

    Walkthrough alleyways to reach the medina, where you can browse alongside locals going about their day-to-day business, shopping for groceries, clothing and anything and everything else.

  • Quartier Habous

    the Habous quarter, also known as the new medina, where you can shop for Moroccan goods such as traditional clothing, leather, jewellery and food. The medina was built in the 1916s by the French, so it is no surprise that it features a wonderful mix of French and Moroccan-inspired architecture, complete with numerous things to see and do and taste.

    We’ll visit a local bakery where locals take their bread and pastries to be baked, one of the most famous pastry houses in town. (#localsknow tip: all the treats at Bennis are delicious, but we recommend the chicken pastilla, which is heavenly good!)

  • Rick’s café will be closed when we pass by because they open at 12 PM, we don’t intend to go inside we just want to go by and talk about it. Travellers can come back later for a drink if they fancy it.

Muhammad our guide was great Local with great insights of his neighborhood and Morocco. Restaurant he took us to for lunch was great local food.

Aafif, our tour guide was fantastic. He made us feel very comfortable walking all over Morocco and he went above and beyond. We enjoyed the two Medinas in particular trying a Pastilla. And I let him know what I was hoping to buy whist in Morocco and he made recommendations and took us to the shops even though the tour was over.

Exceptional Casablanca tour with Hicham Bennis

Morocco was on my must see list. I booked a private tour with Urban Adventures by Intrepid. I arrived an hour earlier than expected and Hicham came and greeted me right away. He was very professional and yet was like a friend taking us around. I had a remarkable day. If you are a photographer, you will appreciate his eye for getting the right angle. He stopped multiple times for us to take photos, and even took some photos for us. A highlight was picking out pastries and cookies and then going to a cafe to drink mint tea and eat our treasures. It was so good to learn the history of the city and architecture. We learned so much, and the time went quickly. I wholeheartedly recommend Urban Adventures Morocco. If you are doing a private tour, ask for Hicham. You will be so glad you did!
