Overview

The places below are examples of what you may choose to see on the day, during this 4-hour tour. Higashi Chaya District (and Kazue Machi) The most famous tea district and Geisha/Geiko area in Kanazawa. It is also the home of Kinpaku (Gold leaf crafts). You will have the option to make your own gold leaf creation there.It is also possible to drink authentic green macha tea. The Samurai District Visit the streets where the Samurai lived. You will enter the houses of the Ashigaru (footsoldiers), and then view the larger residences of the more powerful samurai. You will have the option of entering the Nomura Samurai house. A kutani pottery museum and tea gardens are also en-route. There is also the option of taking a break for tea or a bite to eat here. Kenrokuen Gardens The famous gardens of the six attributes, facing Kanazawa Castle and Utatsu Mountain.There are opportunities to take a break, and to enjoy tea ceremony.

Great tour with Sachiko

We had a half day tour with Sachiko Nakai and went to Samurai area and Geisha district and to Kimono masters house. She was absolutely fantastic. Excellent English, very knowledgeable and very kind manner. Arranged everything and took time to answer all of our questions. You would be very lucky and grateful to have her as your guide

Takayama walking tour great experience

We did a tour of Takayama with Kumiko@takayama.tours and she was great. Very friendly and relatively easy to converse with. Incredibly knowledgable on the history of Takayama. We also did a Saki tasting tour which was great. We also visited the Museum Center for a little more history. We walked through various streets loaded with shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend Kumiko for a fun filled and educational tour for anyone traveling to Takayama

Ian Walker did an outstanding job showing me the geisha district, the samurai district, the Strolling Garden, and the rebuilt castle. He shared details and back stories. He also answered my questions about his experiences living in Japan. I loved his Canadian accent and am in awe of his ability to easily communicate in Japanese.
