Overview

Experience the beauty and wonder of Arctic animals on this Alaskan Huskies and Reindeer farm combo tour. You will be driven to the farm, where local reindeer herders will tell you more about the herding lifestyle and how it is to be a reindeer herder in the 21st century. After insightful instructions given by the herders, you will be able to drive your own reindeer sledge in a brief, 500m long ride. Your newly learned skills will be rewarded with a Reindeer Sledge Driver’s License! Next, make your way to the Alaskan Husky Farm where you will find these beautiful, loyal, and energetic companions. Experience the Alaskan Huskies in action on a 500m long sleigh ride. Once you are back, you will be able to experience the Christmas atmosphere, step across the Arctic Circle, meet Santa Claus, visit the post office and do gift shopping.

Katerina and Annabel were fantastic guides! They made the experience so much fun and really took the time to make sure the group had knowledge about Finland. The experience was planned well and gives you a taste of Finnish culture and Christmas.

Jani is very nice and helpful, always willing to help take pictures for customers…I also learned something interesting and local from him, making my journey more rewarding and joyful… Minor suggestion for the tour company, if you could share more info about the Santa Claus village, i.e. village map, must-do experience sharing, that will be more helpful…coz i was lost at beginning, but i did enjoy the exploring, although it took more time for me to figure out

Fantastic day out, great to see the Huskies and the Reindeer, with some good information on Reindeer in Lapland. Santa clause village was also a nice addition. Plus it is all very ethical and the animals seem to be treated very well.

We got to the farm and were immediately taken to the huskies. We very swiftly got to experience the sled ride. Once everyone had been we then got to spend 10/15mins stroking and cuddling with them - this is a good opportunity to take some photos. They really enjoyed the attention. After that we were taken straight to the reindeer. The ride happens for everyone at the same time and as soon as you have finished, again, you can take photos of them. To finish we went to a warm barn where we got some hot berry juice and a gingerbread. A lady talked us about reindeers in the country and this was really insightful.

We were worried after reading some of the December reviews but honestly the whole day was wonderful. The equipment stop to allow people to borrow overalls (highly recommend) was 20 minutes. The guides and staff at the farm were friendly and knowledgeable, the 2 coach loads were split into 3 groups and there wasn't much waiting at all. The husky ride was a quick circuit but the guides took photos for you and we could pet the dogs afterwards and ask questions. The reindeer ride was lovely and again, staff were chatty and took photos for us all. The reindeer story telling was in a warm hut and we were served hot fruit juice and ginger biscuits, the reindeer story was interesting and we learned about other animals in the area. We had the opportunity to eat at the on site restaurant but we chose to wait until we got to Santa Claus village as it was a little pricey. The bus then took us to Santa Claus village with a quick stop to return overalls before hand. We all had a wonderful day, big thanks to the guides for making it so.
