    We start our journey in Rossio Square, or officially called Praça Dom Pedro IV, where you'll learn about the first inhabitants who established in the city 3.000 years ago whilst marveling at the intricate floor works of the square.

    Our next stop is in fig tree square, where once stood the largest public hospital destroyed in the 1755 earthquake. Here you'll learn about the critical battles fought over the crown between Portugal and its neighbors.

  • Baixa de Lisboa (Pass By)

    Walk downtown city through Rua Augusta, an emblematic street and Lisbon's main artery. Learn how the age of Enlightenment heavily influenced its architecture.

  • Praca do Comercio (Terreiro do Paco)

    City main square that for millennia has served as the entry point to the city. Listen to the fascinating stories of the Age of Discovery, the 1755 earthquake and the city rebuild efforts and heroes.

    Lisbon's art district, bustling with life in cafes, theaters, bookshops (including the oldest in the world), and a nightlife meeting point for many. You will learn the stories of our proclaimed poets and writers. Also have a chance to visit the oldest bookshop in the world.

    This square hosts Convento do Carmo the second oldest building in the city, having barely resisted to the devastating 1755 earthquake, it has been a common place for the most emblematic social events in the countries history, including the 1974 Carnation Revolution, deemed the coolest coup in the world.

Toby was the best guide I’ve ever had. The pace was perfect and got great knowledge of lisbons and all of its history. Pictures taken will be a great memory for me and my wife.

Met in the square which was easy to locate. Our Guide Tomàs was really passionate and very informative about the history. It was refreshing to hear about all the historical influences. We had such a laugh too...and got great advice regarding the best bits of Lisbon.

Toby was an excellent guide not only providing concise information about the history of Lisbon, but very practical information about how to get around the city and how to avoid some of the steep uphill climbs (who knew about the public elevators or escalators!). Recommend doing this tour early in your Lisbon stay because you will rely on the information you receive throughout your stay. If you are luck, you will have Toby as your guide.

Great walking tour, with a focus on the history and culture of Lisbon. Bruno was excellent, he saved time for a Ginjinha stop, showed us tricks for the hills and the best views, and of course answered all of our questions. A great way to start your trip and orient yourself to the sites! Thank you!
