Overview

This full day tour which takes place east of MedellĆ­n, and takes you through the coziest and most representative villages in Antioquia: ElĀ PeƱol and Guatape. After 1.5-hour driving along natural scenarios with your professional guide you will arrive at El PeƱol to discover the fascinating story of the town that sits today on the middle of the lake. The closest to heaven will be next when you walk up the almost 700 steps of the El PeƱol rock which offers picturesque views of the region (entrance not included). As a final destination, there is ZĆ³calo town or GuatapĆ©, both great places to enjoy lunch at your own expense and take a pleasant walk around this vibrant village and relax around the soothing lake.

Daniel was our guide and he was great! On the day of our tour, both main roads were closed to Guatape, but Daniel was diligent on finding a way to the town. Many of the locals were unaware of the closure to the roads to Guatape. We took the back roads, a bit bumpy, but without Daniel's resourcefulness, we wouldn't have made it to Guatape. The tour itself was great and I would definitely go again myself and recommend!

Medellin Taxi Service was very responsive on WhatsApp. Our guide, Juan showed up right on time and our day was fantastic. Juan was simply awesome - great guide. Knew his stuff and was super patient with us. Very professionally done tour - would recommend to anyone. Value for money overall.

Unexpected Guatape Tour

Juan was amazing in providing us the history go Guatape. We ate at a local restaurant and it was wonderful after climbing all of those steps. This tour was booked last minute and our travel agent was able to reserve Juan to be our tour guide. This is how much we enjoyed him and felt comfortable that we specifically asked for him.
