Itinerary

This is an event for tourists visiting Japan where you can casually experience the essence of Japanese culture. You can enjoy a tea ceremony experience, a Japanese dance show, kimono cosplay, calligraphy, origami, etc. while enjoying matcha green tea and Japanese sweets. [Tea ceremony experience & Japanese dance appreciation] A lecture will be given while demonstrating how to make matcha, and you can actually make matcha yourself. Please enjoy it with Japanese sweets. In addition, enjoy Japanese traditional dance that matches the season while enjoying matcha green tea and Japanese sweets. The choreography that expresses the scenery of the four seasons is explained in a fun way, with occasional quizzes. (with English) You can feel more familiar with Japanese dance, which you don't usually have the opportunity to experience. [Calligraphy, origami, kimono cosplay experience] Calligraphy experience where you follow the model and write your favorite characters using brush and ink, Origami experience to actually learn how to fold and make a work, A Japanese-style fitting experience where you can enjoy taking pictures while wearing a geisha or maiko cosplay costume (Please bring your own camera or smartphone to take pictures) etc. are also available. As an option, we also offer souvenir goods such as original calligraphy T-shirts and matcha tea sets that you can make on the spot and take home. You can enjoy Japanese traditional dance show with Green Tea “Matcha” and Japanese sweets in the program. This is an exceptional experience to know about Japanese tradition. Making matcha tea, watching Geisha dance, making origami and Kanji writing all in one was perfect. And the price is affordable. If you travel to Tokyo I highly recommend Edocco Teahouse❤️

The ovely women at the Japanese culture center we're absolutely amazing! I'm not often given to hyperbole, but this was truly a memorable experience. They gracefully moved us through the four experiences without feeling rushed. We learned about the tea ceremony and got to make our own matcha. We watched three Japanese dances with explanations of how certain movements actually told a story. Then it was on to origami. I'm legally blind and was sure that I would be unable to participate in the intricate folding necessary to make a paper crane whose wings flapped. However, the women there went around our small group helping everyone and I was able to complete it without feeling like I was a burden or slowing the class down. The last experience was Japanese brush writing. We had quality materials to work with and each stroke was explained to us. They even went around and showed us how to write our names in Japanese so we could sign our masterpiece and take it home. I truly can't say enough good things about this experience. My son and I have been traveling around Japan for 2 months now and this was definitely our favorite experience of them all. It was almost as if we were transported into Japanese culture rather than being tourists simply observing it from a distance. This is definitely the one experience you don't want to miss.
