Overview

Our cocktail tour! From the mill to the still, whiskey has been a cornerstone in Pittsburgh's history. Come downtown for our whiskey tour where you will discover how whiskey has fueled political, labor and social movements throughout the region. Begin and end your tour in style with a Prohibition cocktail at the Ritual House and an Old Fashioned at the Rebel Room. As we walk the streets of Downtown, along iconic architecture, you'll learn about the violent Whiskey Rebellion in Pittsburgh, hidden former (as well as existing!) speakeasies around the city, and how Prohibition affected the region. **Please note: This is NOT a bar crawl but a whiskey history tour that includes two handcrafted cocktails. This event is 21+ only, no minors please. ***For private/custom tour requests: please contact us.

Historical walking tour.

Our guide, John White, was friendly and quite knowledgeable about local history and how it fit in with the larger picture. A gifted story teller, he took time to talk with us to customize the trip a bit for our interests and shared stories from that perspective. A wonderful evening, indeed.

His deep knowledge of Pittsburgh’s history and his enthusiasm for great whiskey shone through every moment of the tour. John’s passion for the subject matter was contagious, and he made the rich tapestry of the city’s past come alive. Highly recommended for history buffs and whiskey lovers alike!

The experience was interesting and exciting. The opportunity to hang out with four other couples on the tour was indescribable. The tour guide kept everyone engaged and laughing the whole time. I would highly recommend this tour for the historical value of it.
