    : The Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria is considered one of the most important defensive strongholds in Egypt and along the Mediterranean coast. In the 15th century A.D., it was essential to Alexandria's fortifications. The Citadel resides at the entrance of the eastern harbor on the east point of Pharos Island. It was erected on the site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The lighthouse continued to function until the time of the Arab conquest. Several disasters occurred, and the shape of the lighthouse was changed to some extent, but it continued to work. Restoration began during Ahmed Ibn Tulun (about 880 A.D). During the 11th century, an earthquake damaged the octagonal part. The bottom survived but could only serve as a watchtower, so a small Mosque was built on the top. In the 14th century, a destructive earthquake destroyed the building. optional stop for lunch at fish market

Day trip to Alexandria from Cairo

We had an unforgettable day trip from Cairo to Alexandria that combined history, culture, and warm hospitality. The journey began with a comfortable drive with Mr. Maged, who ensured our safety and comfort throughout. His expert navigation made the trip seamless, and his attentiveness added to our enjoyment. In Alexandria, we were fortunate to have Eriny as our guide. Her extensive knowledge of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian history brought the ruins and landmarks to life. She took us to the city's most iconic sites, providing fascinating insights that deepened our appreciation of Alexandria's rich heritage. She even recommended an incredible local restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal that added a special touch to our trip. From the awe-inspiring ruins to the vibrant city atmosphere, every moment of our journey was beautifully curated. This experience exceeded our expectations, and we’re already planning to return for a longer stay. Thank you, Eriny and Mr. Maged, for making our trip so memorable!

Very great experience

We had a day tour to Alexandria and the whole package was incredibly. We were picked up from Cairo sharp in the morning. We met out guide Eriny at Alexandria and she took care of us right off the bat. She showed us the catacombs, the Alexandria library, the St. Micheal cathedral , mosque and Roman Amphitheater. She had such a strong knowledge about each of the places and answered everything we asked. She was very patient with us and a greatvconversationalist. Very happy to have met Erin and out driver Maged. Very happy with the services and will definitely recommend this. Look forward to comign back to Alexandria and meeting Erinyn again.

I was picked up from my hotel by Saeid and he was on time, drove safely for me and Ehab to Alexandria from Cairo and back. My tour guide Ehab is amazing. He speaks good English, knows the history and facts about all places we have been. He is a good photographer as well.
