Overview
Discover the hidden gems of this lively area on the other side of the Tiber river. Be prepared to sample some authentic Roman and Italian street food! Taste the "supplì": deep-fried rice ball filled with (mozzarella cheese) and tomato sauce. Learn about the history of the district, and visit the Basilica of Santa Maria, the heart of Trastevere, before heading for some pizza. See Piazza Trilussa and Ponte Sisto, with a beautiful view of Saint Peter’s dome from the river, before heading to the final desserts on the road. This is an area you may not discover otherwise. We were lucky to get a very small group just us and another couple. We were really pleased with our guide. He was fun and had great information. We learned so much about history. His English was great and very easy to understand. I wish we started our trip with this tour instead of doing it our last full day in Rome. We got so many tips and recommendations for restaurants that would have made our time in Rome so much better if we did it earlier. Start your trip with this tour!

Our tour guide-Daniel was the best part! The information and his passion for history made our tour most memorable! The food AND the introduction to the food was fun and delicious! We have even more appreciation for Rome and its history thanks to Daniel! Loved it!
Great way to see Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere,

We had been to Rome before to see all of the "big" sites so this was the perfect way to learn about local neighborhoods and foods. The fried artichoke was awesome and we ended with some excellent gelato, Virginia was a great guide.

Had a great small group of 7 people and the tour was very good. We had the right sequence of savory and sweet snacks along with seeing lots of sights and learning lots of history. Highly recommend. Our guide was very good and easy to understand.
