Titanic Trail Guided Walking Tour of Cobh Operating daily since 1998, this 1 hour gentle stroll through the heritage town of Cobh explores the diverse and magnificent history of Cork harbour, its environs and the architecturally preserved streetscape. The engaging narrative brings together the amazing maritime, emigrant and social history of the area. Cobh was the main departure point for millions of Irish emigrants to the US. It was the last port of call for RMS Titanic, it received the victims and survivors after the sinking of the Lusitania during the first world war. Over many centuries, the invasions, departures, arrivals and utilisation of the port by many different peoples have crafted a fascinating story that will enthral and engage the visitor no matter what their interests. Created by the renowned Dr Michael Martin, this tour will bring you new knowledge and fascinating insights into world stories in the environment in which they were created.

I had never been to Cobh and had very little knowledge of the local history. Our guide, Dr. Michael Martin, was amazing. He is a former member of the Irish Navy as well an accomplished historian. He was able to convey his own excitement over the rich history of the area and provide a fascinating experience during a truly enjoyable walk in the harbour area.

Our guide Eddie was not only extremely knowledgeable but also deeply passionate about the history of Cobh. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he generously gave his time to share fascinating details that brought the town’s rich past to life. While we've seen other Titanic exhibits, this tour offered something different and far more personal. Walking through the streets where history actually happened made it all the more meaningful. It’s a fantastic alternative for anyone looking to go beyond the typical museum experience. Highly recommended—especially for history lovers and those curious about Cobh’s unique place in the Titanic and Lusitania stories and beyond.
