Overview

We are certified tour guides with many years of experience on the Parque Nacional da Tijuca. On this particular trail we will visit the historical circuit, where Brazilians in the past used to grow coffee and raised livestock. We still can see some of the ancient buildings of that time during the hike. Along the trail, hikers can enjoy a wide variety of plants and wildlife. Together We will talk about their characteristics and their interaction with the environment. We also promote environmental awareness and collaborate with different NGO's working for protection and conservation of nature.

After all, this environmental conservation unit has 39.58 km², covering different regions of the city and creating a huge green area that is a real refuge for those who want to quickly leave the city and get in touch with preserved nature.

    Biggest waterfall of the tour with 35 meters high, the hike is gonna take you to this waterfall at the very beggining or at the very last depending on the whether condition and the caracteristics of the group. The Tour would also take you to at least 2 other waterfall where you can take a refreshing bath and a good rest. depending on the average speed of the group we can spend between 15 up to 30 min on each waterfall.

Lucas Teixeira did a fantastic job, was kind and patient and we highly recommend him. We loved the waterfall pool and the rainforest.

Really beautiful hike with caves and waterfalls. Great opportunities were awesome photos. Decently difficult hike that can be customized based on your activity level. The guide was informative and offered walking sticks, which were helpful. Definitely bring bug spray. The beginning of the park has a lot of mosquitoes, but the vast majority was fine.

Thomas is an excellent guide with more than enough info to share with you about Tijuca. The walk throughout the park was very eye opening and fun. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who loves a good time in nature

Thomas was an amazing hike tour guide! From the very start, he made the entire experience unforgettable. He not only led us through the beautiful trails of Rio de Janeiro, but also shared the rich history behind the city, adding a whole new layer of appreciation for the landscape. His knowledge about the local plants was incredible—he pointed out so many unique species along the way, explaining their significance and uses in the ecosystem. Thomas’s enthusiasm and passion for nature were contagious, making the hike both educational and fun. We left the trail feeling inspired and grateful for such a well-rounded adventure. Highly recommend Thomas for anyone looking to explore Rio to the fullest!

Tijuca National Park tour

Take a nature walk in Rio! Tomas was a great guide and very informative in regards to the national park. He informed us on the plants, animals and location. We got to see a monkey and several birds. We made a pit stop at the waterfall and cave. Also, got to see locals rock climbing and being Tomas expertise stopped to give them pointers. It was fun to watch. Finally, he was also a great photographer. Let him snap your photos his camera is great quality. It was about a 10k loop. Highly recommend it!
