Richard was our tour guide and showed us the best parts of the city of Rio de Janeiro. He explained the history and interesting points about the Christ the Redeemer monument, Sugar Loaf, and the history of these fascinating attractions. George was an excellent driver and navigated the traffic like a pro. Marcel handled the booking and answered all of my questions during the booking process. I am partially disabled and Richard guided me with a steady hand and was always thinking of our safety. My husband and I highly recommend BeFree Tours!
We had an absolutely wonderful time on our tour in Rio de Janeiro. Alan Denis was very knowledgeable and answered any question we had. When our plans changed, he was very helpful in suggesting other points of interest we could visit. Alan was sure to have us visit the most beautiful and most interesting areas of the city. We were thankful for not only visiting the highlights, but learning about the culture and rich history of this wonderful city. We were more than happy with this tour and our tour guide.
This tour took us along the Negro river and stopped at three beaches one of which had a lake nearby. All I can say is prepare to be underwhelmed. Calling the stops a beach is a real stretch. We also pottered about near love island which was a string of shacks all mostly underwater. The boat was ancient and if there were life jackets on board the crew certainly did not bother point them out. The PA system was broken so no narrative as to where we were or what we were looking at. Final stop was at a beach bar that only took the local currency. Then they wanted to park somewhere to look at the sunset and every passenger said they had had enough and insisted that they take us back. This one was a dud - look elsewhere.
Very enjoyable outing. We first went to a floating restaurant for lunch buffet of arapaima cooked several ways and chicken. There was a great variety of side dishes so everyone could find something they would enjoy. Next to the restaurant was a boardwalk that led to a pond of giant water lilies. After lunch we took a side channel to see the community of floating houses, a school bus - which was a boat, as well as cattle being transported by boat. Then we went to a fish farm where we fed the arapaima. Next was the meeting of the waters, the Rio Negro and the Amazon. They run alongside each other for a very long way. Not only is the color of the rivers different but so is the temperature of the waters. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke very good English.
Our guide Sergio was absolutely fantastic. He made us feel very confident and was very personable. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone that is either a beginner in rock climbing or someone that is a little more advanced that is looking for a more casual crag with beautiful views of sugarloaf mountain, Christ the redeemer and the beach right below. Sergio also mentioned that he guided on more difficult crags if you are looking for something more intense.
Gui was an excellent, personable, easygoing guide and an amazing musician with a golden voice and great sense of humour. It was very romantic to walk through the streets of Ipanema and Copacabana as he played and told many anecdotes to walk us through the material history of Bossa Nova. I would highly recommend this trip to any music lover, not just Bossa Nova fans
Our guide was Lu and she was lovely! kind, informative, and organized. The trip ran smoothly from start to finish. Easy transportation between locations in comfortable air conditioned vans. Christ the Redeemer is incredible and sugarloaf has wonderful views of copacaba and Botofogo.
This was a nice, complete tour of Petropolis. Very enjoyable day with Chris. Saw everything that was listed on the itinerary and had enough time to explore a bit on our own. Lunch was a buffet with good selections. The only downside was that we were the first pickup, so it was almost 2 hours by the time we got everyone on board and departed Rio. Long day (12 hours) for the driver, guide and us, but a good experience.
Despite multiple daily texts, emails, and even phone call verifying the details the driver was NOT at the location specified. I was only about 15 minutes later than the pickup time and also did not receive any correspondence from anyone regarding the reason for this. I had to arrange for a taxi to the airport and pay again, as this service was paid for when the arrangements were scheduled. Not fair and I am going to alert my trace agent who set this up for me, and also uses your service for other guests! I’ should entitled to a complete refund and am expecting you to oblige.

Great hike / climb. Lucas and Fernando were excellent guides. This was not a wslk-in-the-park. The trail is difficult with a steep elevation change, free climb areas, and rope work. The guides were absolutely necessary and very good at what they do. The best hike we have been on and a must for avid hikers in Rio.
