    Els 4 Gats, was a café in Barcelona (Catalonia) which opened on 12 June 1897. It also operated as a hostel, a cabaret, a pub and a restaurant. Active until 1903, Els Quatre Gats became one of the main centers of Modernisme in Barcelona. The artist Ramon Casas i Carbó largely financed this bar on the ground floor of Casa Martí (1896), a building by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch in Carrer Montsió near the center of Barcelona. Els Quatre Gats was reconstructed during the transition to democracy in 1978. Pablo Picasso visited this pub–restaurant often in his early art career.

Tour guide was excellent. Very attentive and welcoming. A must for fans of the book. Excellent mixture of history of Barcelona with lots of references to the book. An absolute bargain price for what we saw and learnt.

It was great seeing the places from The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series up close! The tour guide was very kind and knew a ton about Barcelona. I wish I had re-read the books ahead of time, but otherwise, I had a great time.

This tour far surpasses my expectations - and they were already high! Our tour leader brought every aspect of the book to life and read excepts at appropriate spots. I am off to re-read this fabulous novel and immerse myself in it once again.

It had been awhile since I read the book but Laura did a good job bringing the area to life and reading relevant passages. This would be a good orientation tour, even if you were not familiar with the book. Laura was enthusiastic and informative. I recommend this tour.
