Dasaswamedh Ghat

Dashashwamedh Ghat is a main ghat in Varanasi located on the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple. There are two Hindu legends associated with the ghat: according to one, Brahma created it to welcome Shiva, and in another, Brahma Performed 10 Ashwamegha Yajna, Dasa-Ashwamedha yajna.

Harishchandra Ghat

It is one of the two cremation Ghats (the otherone being Manikarnika Ghat). Hindus from different places bring the dead bodies of their relatives to the Harishchandra Ghat for cremation. In Hindu mythology it is believed that if a person is cremated at the Harishchandra Ghat, that person gets salvation or moksha

Assi Ghat

Legend has it that Goddess Durga, after killing demons Shumbha-Nishumbha, threw her sword in a river (called Assi). That is why this ghat has been named so. While the evening arti invites visitors regularly, the ghat is especially crowded during the months of chaitya (March/ April) and magh (January/ February).

Excellent guide. Punctual, respectful. Lived in Varnassi his whole life. Considering we only had 8 hours in Varnassi, did almost impossible , at fast pace, to show us as much of the city as possible. He even got us to the top of the burning ghat!

Amit was an amazing guide! As he grew up in Varanasi, he knew a lot about its history and culture, which helped me to get deep insights into this holy place. Beautiful experience in Varanasi

I went to Varanashi without any plans. But Amit arrange everything. We walked around the complex street and it was amazing experience for me. He was born and raise in Varanasi so he knows evesy single paths. You should join his tour otherwise you'll get lost easily. Especially if you are Japanese, I highy recommend his tour. He can speak Japanese fluently and so kind.
