Overview

Taroko in a Day is specifically designed for visitors wanting to optimize their time at Taiwan’s must-see attractions. A convenient train ride assisted by MyTaiwanTour staff will take you from Taipei to Taiwan's most iconic, scenic spots featuring the largest marble canyon in the world. As you wind your way through the gorge's scenic road you'll learn the area's history, legends and more. After lunch, you'll spend the afternoon visiting Taroko Gorge, including Shakadang Trail, Swallow Grotto and Lushui Trail, three scenic areas offering different vantage points of the raging river below and majestic cliffs above. Finally, it is better to grab a light meal on the train before heading back to lively Taipei.

Meeting points

Our crew will hand train tickets at "Taipei Main Station Exit M3" (Add: No. 45, Sec. 1, Zhongxiao W. Rd) or send train tickets to passengers before the departure date. Please be informed to take the train by yourself, and the local tour guide will meet you at Hualien station.

Fantastic day

Our tour ended up being a nice small group of 4. Vincent, our tour guide, was fantastic. He told us lots of stories and answered all of our questions and flexibly and expertly tailors our day so we got the most of it. The scenery was stunning. Lunch was amazing- I requested a vegan meal ahead of time and was served a tasty banquet!

Awesome Day Trip from Taipei

I had a great time on this excursion. The trip out from Taipei was itself quite a distance (over 4 hours round trip on the train to/from Taipei and Hualien), which made the tour (having everything managed and planned out) more appealing. Despite the long day, the trip was definitely worth it for me; the scenery in the park was amazing and awe inspiring. Vincent, the tour guide, was energetic, enthusiastic and full of knowledge. He has an interesting background as well - a former environmental engineer who grew up in the area and has a pretty impressive command of English for someone who independently learned from scratch at a relatively late age. I was also impressed by his strong voice, presence and clear diction. The lunch was a nice surprise. Seeing all of the massive tour buses in the parking lots also enhanced my appreciation for this small group experience.

The Taroko gorge was stunning. We had a brilliant time. It was a bit warm and muggy but the stunning views made up for it. Our driver Vincent was fantastic. He had amazing knowledge of the place and made our day very enjoyable.

This was a great trip to see the Taroko Gorge. The planned trip had to be rescheduled due to a typhoon, but it happened. Alex was a lively and informed guide who made the experince easy and enjoyable.

Great clear communication, from the company, from the time of booking up until the day trip and the train tickets were dropped off at the hotel. Was promptly met by guide Ivan (at the Hualien train station) and had an excellent day exploring the local Coast line and National Park/Gorge. We visited all the key highlights (stunning landscape) of the National Park and enjoyed a scrumptious local lunch. Despite being a long day I highly recommend; if you do one day trip from Taipei - choose this one.
